I've been going back and forth on what to throw on my retro 26er vintage mountain bike gravel / city bike conversion. This alt bar looked very interesting to solve a few issues I have with my current setup. The extra rise is essential on these conversions. My stem adapter sits pretty high and this helps put the bar at a comfortable position. The slight sweep on the bars gets you into an even more ergo hand position. I opted for a slightly wider 47 over my existing 42 road or this bike bar setup for a bit more comfort and carrying capability off the bar. The added width will help on light duty single track performance with a bit more control. Finally the flared bars offer a bit more comfort and hand position for long hauls. I opted against the loop and i am not sure how i will feel long term as i do like the prospect of that center hand position too.Weight is totally fine for me, it's a well constructed bar. I am not a total weight weenie on this build so the aluminum is kinda the ideal material for unmatched light weight , strength and durability. All are pluses and could easily find this bar on a more sporty carbon frame without much concern. While i didn't order them yet i love that Redshift has a variety of accessories to really kit out this bar with the ergo grips and top bar extensions all really nice ideas to further improve fit and feel if i want to try customize further. It's hard to relay my ergonomic preferences over to anyone else, but so far they have been nice on my handful of rides with them as it dial in the positioning. But I think this has such a broad set of ergonomic features that it can appeal to many others looking for an "alt bar" that doesn't get too silly and help you keep more comfy on the bike. The rise and sweep are all subtle but welcomed details.

I like to do a variety of riding and that includes dirt trails and paved roads and these Redshift bars are great for my style of riding. When I'm in the mood to push it, the drops and aero bar keeps me tucked and aerodynamic but when I'm riding casually and want to sit up the rise and multi-position grips keep me comfortable on the saddle. These anodized alloy bars are narrower than flat bars but wider than most drop bars. I've included a chart that came with the bars showing all the sizing specs as the ad only shows a few measurements. Redshift makes excellent quality products as I'm using the "TopShelf" Redshift on another bike and love the design and feel. I'm swapping out my flat bar for this one and will soon be ordering compatible brake and shift levers.Bottom Line: Excellent Quality bars that offer multiple grip locations, are perfect for those who want bars that provide options when riding in varying terrains and riding surfaces and bars that can be used for casual riding and/or workouts. That's exactly how I'll be using them and they'll replace my flat bars.

As all things redshift, these are well made. They have a nice shape to them and aren’t overly heavy for an ergo, alloy bar. Really comfortable shape and the rise on these offers a lot of options for mounting stuff. These are best suited to touring and bike packing. Aero weight weenies will probably want to avoid them. Also, the flare makes these things really stable off-road. I love them for gravel adventure riding!
