I bought these speakers as extention speakers for my kitchen / dinner room. I have not bought Wharfdale speakers for many many years but having read the positive comments on here I thought I would give them a go.I bought the Walnut finish version and I have to say the build quality and finish is superb well over what I was expecting. The bi wired connections on the back are really chunky and solid and will take high quality thick speaker cables with ease.Out of the box with flat direct feed they sound as good as you can expect a small / medium bookshelf speaker to sound. Nice crisp highs and clear middles the bass is a little light as you would expect from a bookshelf.However, as a test I drove them with my Technics graphic equalizer and after fiddling around I got some quite amazing deep, solid and punchy bass..... very impressive.They are quite heavy for book shelf speakers so make sure your wall brackets are sound.In short great build quality and superb finish, good sound and for £129.00 great value for money.If I could give 6 stars I would.

Come emerso in internet, queste 9.1 di nuova produzione hanno qualità inferiore alle originali. Si distinguono per 4.5kg di peso invece che 6kg, e la scritta Made in China sull'etichetta. Non sono casse vergognose, ma è vergognosa la politica aziendale di Wharfedale.

Absoluter Highend Lautsprecher für ganz kleines Geld. Der Klang hat mich absolut abgeholt. Der Speaker hat diesen typischen britischen Klang. An Dynamik lässt er ebenfalls nichts vermissen. Bestellung lief absolut problemlos. Ware kam sogar noch ein paar Tage früher an. Bin total begeistert.Deshalb fünf Sterne (noch zu wenig ).

Choć gabaryty by na to nie wskazywały , to jednak te kolumienki mają naprawdę spore możliwości . Z niedużym wzmacniaczem lampowym ( hybrydowym ) mają bardzo przyjemne brzmienie i jak na tak niedrogi model budują przyjemną przestrzenną scenę. Nie można też mieć żadnych zastrzeżeń do wzornictwa i estetyki wykonania. Dzięki niewielkim gabarytom bardzo łatwo je ustawić w optymalnym położeniu , nawet w niewielkim pomieszczeniu ( u mnie ok.10mq. - sypialnia ) . Najlepsze brzmienie i zrównoważenie uzyskałem na podstawach/stojakach o wysokości ca`56 cm. i ustawieniu kolum "do góry nogami" .

I was excited to get these because of the outstanding reviews these speakers got both from external reviewers and here on Amazon.The speakers are a little on the large size for what I would consider "bookshelf". They aren't going to sit on that many bookshelves in a pleasing way.The sound from them is ok but pretty boxy sounding. There is detail in the sound but the overall eq and feel they project just isn't for me.The style and finish of the speakers is very nice and doesn't feel cheap at all.Overall, I think these speakers are OK and, maybe a sign of the times, that for the same price some years ago I could get a better product.
