I used this to prototype/test software to communciate with a much larger IO system over Modbus. I was able to setup software to communicate with this device using a standard Modbus (over serial) stack and a RS232-485 converter. The device can be powered off a simple 12V power supply (or battery). It supported modbus commands well and as a result the software I wrote for this was compatible with a larger modbus system. The analog IO worked well and output voltages accurately.Improvements:The only thing I wish was different be that the power and modbus termals were on a separate terminal block.Final thoughtsThis is a great device for use or prototyping modbus comms.
