This paint is VERY thick, but when it dries in a thin layer on something smooth.... it give an incredible gold or silver leaf effect. I let some paint dry on a glass plate and took a picture of the effect. It looks great! Now I am trying to find something I want to decorate with these gold paints. I'm not sure what I will use the silver on yet.Is the paint worth the money? Hell yes, I say. Even just to experiement and see what you can do with it.I used it with a big bristle brush on thick paper to see its consistency and I also used the nylon brushes that come with it.The gold paints seem to have a little less coverage on paper than the silver paint, but they are easily workable, can be laid on thick for impasto type effects but where they really shine is when applied in thin coats. I want to thin them down and try them in an airbrush to see what kind of effects I can get with them.They really seem to be geared for painting over glazed ceramic and glass, or other smooth surfaces because when it dries on a smooth surface with thin coats -- wow, it makes things look like they are gilded or made of metal.Fantastic look.

This paint looks really nice. I like how metallic and shimmery it is. You wont get a smooth even coat like the pictures, instead it's a nice glittery metallic finish. It's quite thick. A bit too thick where you'll see brush lines in a first coat, thus needed a few more. Thinning it is great and helps to level out the brush marks. I was surprised by how big each bottle is.

In this set you get 2 good-sized 300g pots of gold paint and 1 pot of silver paint. The two golds are very similar in colour. The difference is tiny - one being ever so slightly lighter / more yellow and the other being slightly darker / more brown gold. The label is the same on them both so you may want to add your own label so you know which is which since it's not totally obvious if you're grabbing them in a hurry.The pots are clear plastic with screw on black plastic lids. To protect the paints from evaporating and drying out there was a paper seal over the top of the pots which I appreciated.The paint is thick and nicely shiny and metallic. You can always thin it out a little with water or acrylic medium (eg Acrylic flow improver, glazing liquid, or pouring medium) to get it to the texture you want and to avoid brush marks that show up in thicker paint, or leave it thick if you want the textured brush-mark look. If you thin it out, the paint goes further so the pack ends up being even better value.Three paintbrushes were included in the box which is a nice thought, but they were atrocious quality (splinters coming off the handles!) so are not use-able. But I ordered this set for the paints, not for the bonus brushes so I won't let the poor quality brushes affect my rating.

This *LUVBOATE Acrylic Metallic Paint* is excellent quality. Yes it's thick but I use it to sponge on to give a textured finish, and this paint does what I want it to do exactly. Can be thinned out of you want a smoother finish these bottles will go a long way. Beautiful metallic shades, you can't go wrong with these.Recommended.
