The Lang Lang Piano Method: Level 3

Utile per integrare lo studio e non perdere tempo suonando brani che non puoi suonare perché non sei ancora capace. Per me che sono principiante seguita da un maestro è una boccata di aria fresca.

Non basta mettere, come autore, un nome importante, di un grande interprete, conosciuto in tutto il mondo, per realizzare un libro di sicuro successo ed efficace dal punto di vista didattico. Abbiamo esaminato abbastanza a fondo questi libri (con tracce online da poter scaricare) e la conclusione è questa: brani che non hanno alcun "appeal" dal punto di vista melodico od artistico; molti concetti musicali sono spiegati male o addirittura non spiegati e lasciati alla comprensione dell'allievo o al lavoro maggiorato da parte dell'insegnante; tracce online che spesso si sentono male e non hanno un minimo di arrangiamento. Se dovete acquistare metodi e libri di musica della Faber molto meglio rivolgersi al metodo del titolare (Faber, appunto) che è ben strutturato e vanta una esperienza di anni ed anni. Provate a dare uno sguardo ad altri metodi ben più attraenti e coinvolgenti, come ad esempio i "Percorsi di Pianoforte" di Perini, editi da Progetti Sonori, e vedrete la differenza netta.

Muy buenos mi hijo ha superado los tres niveles dejé una reseña en el manual de nivel 4 que acabo de encargar. Decir que mi hijo tiene 6 años y es autista y es fantástico ver cómo alguien de su condición puede superarse y llegar a tocar piezas musicales infantiles dia a día mas y más complejas. Gracias a estos libros consigue destreza al piano, le han venido muy bien para tratar la motricidad fina y mejorar el desarrollo cognitivo ya que el aprendizaje de la música favorece la creación de nuevos puentes comunicantes entre la neuronas...le ha permitido tratar también sus crisis por las frustraciones...en cada error que comería al tocar el piano sin darse cuenta estaba trabajando su rigidez ante la.frustracion..cada vez estás crisis son menos fuertes y le dirán me os tiempo...con estos libros el aprende dizabe está garantizado..eso sí hay que practicar todos los días al menos 30 minutos..no se puede perdonar un solo día para avanzar. D

I am both a Primary School Music Specialist and a private Music teacher. I have recently purchased the first three Levels of the Lang Lang Piano Method. In my opinion they are extremely accessible to both student and teacher. Each book is clearly laid out in a colourful and informative way, which is particularly appealing to young learners, with simple, but affective illustrations and straightforward text. The progression through each book is steady and easily achievable and relevant theory is covered at the appropriate stages of learning. There are audio tracks available to download, which are useful for the student to listen to at home between lessons. I particularly like the 'Time For A Break' additions, whereby Lang Lang can be heard playing pieces of Music that have been inspired by his love of Art.Book 3 again follows the same style and lay out of the previous two books, but the print is slightly smaller as the the pieces become more complex. The progression across all of the first three books is steady and achievable with plenty of consolidation. Book 3 starts to introduce the early scales required for Grade 1, as are key signatures. In book 2 accidentals are used instead of key signatures. By the end of book 3, students should be well on their way towards Grade 1 and certainly able to enter the ABRSM Prep test.

As with the earlier levels, there are simple warm-ups and appealing pieces, and the look of the book is colourful and friendly, with useful tips and bits of theory. I love the way pieces in this book sneak in simple one octave scales, chords, and broken chords in a musical context. Nothing dry or boring! As the book progresses, the pieces get slightly longer – which pupils enjoy at this stage - and there’s a wide range of styles. We’ve all got the hang of downloading and listening to the audio tracks now, and sharing our thoughts about the ‘Take a Break’ piece. Pupils think it would be fun to do something like this in a concert – getting the audience to say what they imagine about the story or journey of a piece. I’d use this Level 3 book with pupils aged 9-12, and I’m finding both Level 2 and Level 3 can be used with pupils who’ve initially started with other Tutor/Method books. (It’s also good as a quick refresher book for adult re-starters). By the end of this level pupils will really be ready for the ‘next step up’ – so I’m looking forward to seeing what Levels 4 & 5 will have to offer.
