In a faux wooden picture frame the coloured screen provides clear internal and external temperature and humidity information via internal and one external sensors. The main panel can run off of two AA batteries or from a USB power supply, neither and provided though it does have a USB lead. The remote sensor also requires two AA batteries again not supplied, the remote unit can use three frequencies but comes ready paired with the base station on channel 1. There is a small LCD display on the remote unit showing the temp. and humidity, there is also an LED that flashes to show it is transmitting. The remote unit will need to be mounted out of direct sunshine and rain etc.. The base station display is nice and colourful with large figures that are easy to read, on the internal section as well as temp. and humidity there is a smiley face icon to show comfort levels based on temp and humidity. There is also a weather forecast graphic in the centre frame and it seemed to give an accurate idea of tomorrows weather, all be it being rubbish. There is an alarm clock function but it is not something I will use. Units and other settings are accessed from a row of buttons on the rear and the unit can be wall mounted or surface mounted using the built in stand on the rear.

I was really quite impressed to begin with, to be honest. Powering and pairing was really simple and easy, and the display really nice, colourful and a definite improvement over most similar. However, it took a couple of attempts to actually pair, purely because the instructions aren’t good, and misleading. You have to power the sensor (batteries) BEFORE powering the weather station. When you do that, it pairs easily.Once set up, this seems good. A very well laid out, with lots of information, and colourful clear display. However, as alluded to above, the instructions aren’t brilliant, with oft-found poor translation and ambiguity. Once you get your head round it, it’s then quite straightforward. You definitely need a little patience.So then, in the end all good then? Well, no – not really. Firstly, and very importantly, this is NOT totally accurate, and unlike other weather stations, you cannot calibrate the temperature readings. The main indoor unit reads 0.7°C higher than actual, the outdoor unit 0.1°C higher. That’s not a massive difference, but still irritating. The description states automatic time calibration (MSF radio control), as my other one does, er no, it DOES NOT! If you down-power the main indoor unit, it doesn’t retain settings (no flash memory)Overall, there are too many flaws with this to wholeheartedly recommend it, which is a shame since the display is so good. That’s spoilt though if it’s not accurate. I haven’t checked barometric pressure accuracy, which you also can’t calibrate, since pointless realltyI hope that you have found this helpful.
