Very modern looking. I was looking for a fan that’s both cooling and would work as white noise that would block other sounds and noises from outside. It did it’s job! I wish it had a longer base. Sits too low on the floor. We actually put in on top of its box so I would be taller and the air would hit us.

This is a beautifully crafted fan. It has got 3 speeds, each of which cool semi-loudly but perfectly and were a godsend during the sweltering summer days and nights. The buttons however can only be operated from the back of the fan which is tiring and cumbersome [as one has to get up each time to turn it off or higher/lower]. Also, there is no oscillation. It does however look as cool and retro as it does in the pic. However, after two months of use, it packed up - just would not turn on. I thought it has to be one of two things - the electrics or the motor. Tried it on different sockets and had a look at the plug etc, no luck so it had to be that the motor just conked out. It is bizarre that such an expensive fan is not robust enough to withstand daily use after a couple of months - which is exactly what fans are for otherwise what's the point of having one [my other £10 small and plastic-y fan has lasted 5 years so this is shockingly bad]. I have decided to buy another one of the same because I cannot believe that Stadler would make such an effort in the aesthetics and design of this fan but not put that much effort into basic technology! So I want to believe that I got a dud. If however the replacement fan meets the same fate, I will be back here to spread the word. Amazon refunded me quite quickly but I wanted them to contact the manufacturers Stadler, to investigate whether this was a one-off or something to do with the mechanics within their electric motor [which is such a basic age-old technology that in 2013 should really NOT present a problem] or voltage issues. Well, I had no luck with that. I love the fan so I am willing to give it another chance and really really hope I happened to get the one faulty one and that the new one doesn't disappoint.
