I ordered this camera grip to be used with my iPhone 15 pro max. This grip is made well has several good features. I like that it has the remote feature. The small remote is easy to remove and comes with a little USB Type C charging cable. The instructions state that the remote has an operating distance of 32’. Pairing the remote to my phone was tricky. The instructions tell you to hold the button in for 3 seconds until the first indicator flickers. My result was a blue light that flashed 3 times, but my Bluetooth didn't see it. After an hour of trying, I pushed the button and released it the moment I saw the blue light come on, and that worked. I didn't wait for the flicker. Once paired successfully, the remote functions very well. If there was a delay when I took my photos, it wasn't noticable to me. Now, powering off the remote is where this grip falls short. While the remote is in the grip, the indicator light is hidden. Even after taking it out so I could see the light, it wasn't useful to see if the remote was on or off. The only way to tell was to put it back in the grip and try taking a photo. If it triggered a photo, I pushed the button once, then tried again. That's the only way I could tell to ensure the remote was powered off. While I was trying to pair it to my phone, I noticed the remote battery light would go red fairly quick, which is only apparent when it's plugged into the USB cable. I suspect this little remote will need frequent charging, dependant on how long it's used of course. There's a nifty flip out stand feature. I can get my phone to stand nearly vertical, which will be handy while using the remote. I don’t have a tripod, so this feature I’m not likely to use. A lanyard is included that can be put on the grip, if desired. I often fumble my phone while taking photos and video, so this grip looked like something that would help with that. My iPhone with its common thin case fits into the grip easily, however I did need to remove my stick-on finger ring from the back of the case. Once on the phone, the grip is very comfortable to hold and feels quite natural. I wish my shutter button wasn’t on the same side as the grip so that I didn’t have to crossover with my opposite hand to take the photo when not using the remote, but that's not something that can be helped. Overall, this is a good grip methinks. It will certainly help me with holding onto the phone while taking my occasional pics and videos. At this price point of $30, I'd likely shop around if I were to purchase another one.
