I have purchased quite a lot of these plant markers. I found them useful to remember the name of the plants (so I can check how to care for individual plants) and to know where the perennial deciduous plants die back and come back the following year so I won't dig out by mistake. It's discreet and pleasing copper and zinc design that goes with our natural garden landscape. Thank you.

These are by far the nicest copper garden labels I’ve come across. The copper plate is thick, but soft and pliable, and a ball point pen is all you need to make a nice clear impression on the plate. Here’s a couple of tips for success for those new to this process: slide the plate from the wire frame then slip a slim catalog under the plate and into the left side of the turned edge of the plate, this will provide the best surface for your lettering, and protect the turned edge of the plate from being mashed down while you’re lettering, in turn making sliding the plate back on its frame a simple job. For those not comfortable with freehand lettering I highly recommend using a wet erase fine point pen to first lay out the plants’s name on the label, then, carefully and deliberately trace the letters with a sturdy, good quality ball point pen. A fair amount of pressure is required, so a sturdy pen will hold up longer if you have a lot of labels to create. The wet erase pen residue can now be washed off and the plate left as is, or the letter impressions traced with a fine point permanent marker for more visibility. Slide the plate back onto it’s frame, pinch the copper to tighten and you’re done!

I am very excited about my new garden markers! I needed quite a few and wanted some that were taller as many of my plants grow pretty bushy and I wanted to be able to see the garden markers easily. These were really affordable for a pack of 25 and I like that they are much taller than many of the others I looked at. The copper writing surface is really nice looking in the garden.PROs: beautiful copper color in the garden; easy to push into the dirt and feels like it will hold up to wind and elements well; tall enough to stand out in the garden, but also easy to push down deeper and adjust height if wanted; great price.I was a bit concerned that they didn’t come with a marker to write on them like many of the other similar products out there do. But I was easily able to write on them using a black Sharpie that I already had and I think that it turned out nicely. Also, I created a test one that I left for about 24 hours and then used rubbing alcohol to remove the writing and it came off quickly, easily, and completely. I am happy to find this as it means I’ll be able to reuse them if I want to change the plant name and, if I make a mistake, I don’t have to throw away the whole marker.CONs: there were some irregularities in the group, they didn’t all look exactly the same. The metal on most of these was smooth and flat with a nice even copper color, but there were some that had some irregularities. Some had some odd bends in the metal, or slight color variations, etc. I will post a photo of the one that seemed the most pronounced. However, this didn’t affect my enjoyment of this product. They are going to be outside, they will probably look increasingly different from each other over time, so a few irregularities at the outset doesn’t make any difference to me.I saw that some people used metal stamps to permanently press the plant names that they wanted into the metal. I think that would be an even lovelier use for these markers, but for a fast, affordable plant marking solution, I think that using simple permanent marker on these worked great!
