This is a very solidly built pan. And it's so non-stick, it feels like it's oiled to the touch even when it's not. I cooked a breakfast of ham, eggs, and toast in the saute pan. It wiped clean with zero effort. You can't fit two slices of bread in the skillet, but you could squeeze in 3 fried eggs. It does a really good job of spreading the heat, too. My lightweight stove used here only puts a flame in the center. I'm not sure if I would choose this for backpacking over another option though. First off, it's a saute pan, not a skillet, meaning it has straight, vertical sides. There will be no pan flipping here, and a spatula is required. Second, I wish it had a lid or was maybe just a little bit deeper so it could double as a sauce pot. I have included pictures of a GSI Bugaboo backpacking pot with lid and handle. They are definitely not as sturdy as this saute pan. But they weigh only 4 grams more than the saute pan and handle. Both are wipe-clean. The GSI doesn't cook as evenly either on the same burner. It requires a spread-out flame. The Sea-to-Summit pan's cooking area is significantly larger even though the picture makes it hard to see. (The area of circles goes up faster than the diameter as you increase the diameter.) The saute pan is an excellent product, and I highly recommend it. I just wish it could be a little closer to the GSI setup to be a bit more versatile.
