This is a nice item but lacked quality and did not look like the image of a glossy and shiny letter. This was because the item I received had neither been waxed or varnished. In the image I have posted I have deliberately only varnished (matt varnish) the top half of the letter so you can see the difference varnishing makes. Since I do have half a tin of varnish and lots of brushes, there was no extra expense for me to varnish this item. Nor do I have a deadline to gift it and the weather is hot and ideal for drying varnish. However, if you don't want to varnish or apply some sort of wax to the letter you'll simply have to accept it as it is. It's a pity the manufacturer doesn't varnish or wax these products which I would have thought would have cost it very little extra to sell but ensured it was a 5 star product.The letter does come with a little screwdriver which I used to unfasten the acrylic for varnishing, but is intended to enable the contents to be removed. However, a misspend childhood taught me that sliding a thin knife in the moneybox slot will facilitate removal of coins.

I'm really disappointed because I was really looking forward to receiving these money boxes.I ordered 'M' and 'D' for "Mum and Dad".I have a money tin, which cannot be opened unless its can opened and ruined, on several occasions (over the past 25 years!) when these tins are full and comes to opening them up, everytime my partner says "Are we sharing it?! I've added money to it!"...I can't see inside these tins so I wouldn't know if he has or not!I saw these and thought they was perfect!'M' for Mum ...'D' for Dad...Now... he doesn't need to be putting his 'spare change' in my collection (if he ever did in the first place).So, when filling up the 'M' ... I imagined that this is going to be a clean cut 'M' made into an image with my coins... and in reality it doesn't quite look like I expected, it is disappointing.Coins have fallen down between the wood and the acrylic plate which are stuck and the plate needs unscrewing to remove these coins, once upright again, more falls and get stuck, and it just looks messy...Then when standing up the 2 money boxes together, the 'D' is taller than the 'M'.This would deter me from trying to make a word with a few of these money boxes.In all fairness they are the same size box, but the 'M' is made landscape, and the 'D' is made portrait, just like if you had 2 A4 sheets of paper side by side, but turned one of them landscape, that's the only way I can explain how it looks.So, it holds money, and it stands up but as far as the design goes, I'm not happy with the extra wood and letter sizing.

Good quality. The name stickers look lovely, just fidley to line up.
