This little device seems like a great addition to the emergency kit!You can pre-charge the device via USB-C or solar and get on-demand power via the relatively large hand crank. The flashlight function is reasonably bright. The radio function has AM, FM, and Weather bands. There's even an USB-A port to charge your other devices. While there's a tiny LED to indicate that a station is tuned, note that the analog tuning knob is VERY sensitive and it can be a challenge to get that exact spot to tune in a station. To indicate the remaining power level, there are 4 other tiny LEDs (25% 50% 75% 100%) that illuminate for about 30 seconds. The tiny speaker sounds much better than expected.

I live in a state prone to hurricanes & had “Been meaning” To get one of these but typically rely on my phone/weather apps. After seeing the destruction from Hurricane Helene & how some of the warnings came through after cell service restored, it made me rethink my planningI’ve now added this to my solar/emergency light/ lanterns in my “if needed kit”This can be charged 3 ways… USB, via the easily turnable hand crank (& I have arthritis in my hands so if I say it’s easy, it’s easy, trust me.. You can also trickle charge it via the sun but DO NOT leave it boxed and charged Thinking the sun will help you out in a jam. This is an item you want to keep charged (just like your lanterns & back up battery packs etc)I wasn’t expecting much from sound quality.. Actually guess I was expecting static like radios from the 80s.. But stations came in clear & sounded good enough that I sat outside where I had unpackaged to listen to a couple of songsPleasantly surprised by this & hope I rarely have a need for it then maybe to listen to the radio while out with my dogWe’re under high wind warnings/t-storms tomorrow & then a crazy chance of snow & ice later in the weekIce is notorious for knocking out the power so this will be nice to have.Oh last thing to mention is that for the sound quality, it’s small… not too much bigger than my hand & so lightweight it’s easily held.I would absolutely order this again & would recommend it without hesitation. 5 stars

I got a red emergency radio, measuring about 5 3/4" x 1 13/16" x 2 1/4", with a solar panel on top that’s 2 5/8" x 13/16". I can extend the antenna to almost 1 foot, and I use the hand crank charging as last resort. I charge using the USB-C charging when I need to recharge. I find I can charge my devices with the USB-A port, and it includes a black charging cable. It has a headphone jack for private listening. I notice the USB-A, USB-C, and headphone ports are covered by a black rubber lid to keep them protected. I see it also has a hanging loop. I tune it manually, and to turn it on, I turn the volume dial clockwise until it clicks, and I turn it counterclockwise to turn off. I switch between WB (weatherband), FM, and AM analog radio, though I find the AM sound terrible, the FM is okay, and the WB is fine; it shows the frequencies clearly. The speakers emit mono sound, which I notice when I listen. I check the current charge of the built-in battery, which displays in 25% increments: 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. Near the solar panel, I press a rubber button to turn on the flashlight, which has three different brightness levels; I press it repeatedly to increase brightness, and a fourth press turns it off. According to the sticker on the package, the built-in battery is 2000 mAh, and it’s made in China.

This portable 2000mAh hand crank emergency solar radio is an absolute must-have for any home or emergency kit. It's incredibly versatile, providing multiple power options (solar, hand crank, and USB charging) to ensure you always have access to vital information and communication. The ability to receive 7 NOAA weather channels, along with AM/FM radio, is crucial for staying informed during severe weather or emergencies. The built-in reading lamp and 3-mode flashlight are incredibly useful features, offering light when you need it most. The SOS alarm provides an added layer of security, allowing you to signal for help. This radio is compact, durable, and easy to use. It gives me peace of mind knowing that I can stay connected and informed, even in the most challenging circumstances. I highly recommend this as an essential survival tool.
