The durability and wide variety of outputs make this plate the best of its kind. I have used several options and all suffer from durability issues or a lack of adequate outputs. This plate is one of the few that provides USB-C output, which I utilize to power an R5C. As more and more cameras and accessories begin to accept power delivery via USB-C, this is a feature I'd like to see standard in v-mount plates. Much cleaner solution than using a d-tap to USB-C converter.

This is a well built device. I waited some time to write a review because I wanted more field tests. I have but one small complaint, but the rest of my feedback is overwhelmingly good. This plate has a lot of ports and a variety of them - everything from usb-c to usb-a. It also has 2 d-tap ports. The number of ports should satisfy nearly anyone's power needs. It also has glowing power indication around the button. This is a nice to have. It is sturdy and well-built and can clamp down on the tie down points as needed. My small complaint is that is doesn't have power off and pass through circuitry protection on the d-tap ports. On other devices, this can cause such issues as HDMI port burnout if devices are not powered off in the correct order - so take care to power off your HDMI monitor prior to unplugging the device. I have no proof one way or another this could be a problem - I just appreciate the honesty of my inquiries to the Nitze support staff in acknowledging this was not a design factor, however they are looking at how to address this in a future revision. The Nitze support staff definitely care about my feedback and have been very communicative. This is sincerely appreciated and I will continue to purchase Nitze products because of this.

I replaced another manufacturers V mount battery plate which never ever worked from its delivery and took me a few days to work out why nothing worked. This is a well built item. The release mechanism is red coated metal and not plastic as it may appear in the website photos. The v mount battery sits very snug and secure. There is a blue circular light around the power button which clearly indicates that the plate is powered up. The d tap outlets are good tight connections that at first May fool one into thinking the connector won’t fit, but the alignment is critical and then it’s a reassuringly secure connection. The angle adjustment clamps allow rotation of the plate through a little under 180 degrees when viewed from the side . It’s quite a tall plate, but that isn’t a disadvantage. In summary another quality product from Nitze.
