Man sollte sie aber auf einem Mono-Tonkopf berwenden, da die meisten 78er Platten mono sind und es mit einem Stereotonkopf doch zu sehr rauscht.

Great stylus — enables the playing of 78 rpm shellac discs on modern turntables. My only regret is that unlike my first 78 stylus, the second one came packaged in expanded polystyrene cube rather than a plastic container with a transparent cover —all the better for secure storage when not in use.

Buena aguja. Mejora mucho la audición en discos de 78rpm. Si dispones de un amplificador que tenga conmutador estereo/mono, la cosa mejora mucho en monaural. Altamente recomendada para aprovechar una capsula concorde.

I needed a 78 needle to digitize some acetate records from the late 50's. These were 33 1/3 rpm records but a notation on a record cover said to use a 78 needle. The only guidance I found on the net about using a 78 needle on an acetate record spinning at 33 1/3 was that it would be OK to use a 33 1/3 stylus tracking at less than 3 grams. I tried that and it sounded terrible, like the needle was dragging at the bottom of the groove. The conically-shaped Ortofon Stylus 78 stylus, tracking at 2 1/4 grams, produced good sound for this project.
