I generally lug around one those spring loaded grips that allows you to attached a phone to a tripod. Not one made for selfies, one made for setting up and leaving in place for an hour. It has a screw mount for a shoe to be attached, so it is OK.This makes those effort a lot more portable and actually *adds* functionality in doing so. The folding mechanism makes far more portable that any phone mount I can find, and it ALSO has a shoe built in. Currently, I have try and keep up with BOTH the mount and the shoes, so this already has a one-up on My current gear. The tripod screw mount is an added bonus, however, be sure you have a tripod head that can actually maneuver to 90 degrees so that you are not just filming the ground or the ceiling.Alas, for Me at least, there is one caveat. The magnet is not quite strong enough to hold the phone through My phone case. NOTE: This does cleverly come with an adhesive ring that mounts to your case, allow you to go that route if you choose. If you are one of those rebels who carries a phone without a case: rock on. I choose not to live so dangerously. This is the one area the spring loaded phone grip wins out: no phone case removal. If you think you will not mind removing and replacing your phone case, then go ahead and buy this mount because it packs a ton of features into a small frame for twentyish bucks. For Me, it is more painful to remove My case than to carry My spring loaded phone grip mount thing, so I will continue to do so.

持っている三脚でマイク＋スマホを気軽に運用したくて導入しました。使ってみて気になった点は・シューマウントの差し込み方向が異なる。・1/4カメラネジの取付け余地があまりに小さい。・スマホを正面向かすのにボールヘッド程度の可動域では無理がある。・スマホ縦配置で上にライトを取り付けられない。くらいでしょうか。コールドシューをうまく使えば、スマホをスチルカメラのサブモニタとして使うこともできそうです。

This is a quality Magnetic Phone mount by NEEWER compatible with iPhones with MagSafe. It is a compact and foldable design, made of solid metal, so no plastic used. The magnetic ring has a standard 1/4’’ thread for mounting to tripods and other mounting accessories. The foldable part has a standard shoe mount on top for small accessories such as microphones and lights, and is also an adjustable support stand for a phone when placed on a flat surface.The compact design and adjustability makes it very useful to have in your pocket, purse or backpack.Works great with the MagSafe of my iPhone 12, but not so great with the MagSafe of my old iPhone 8 Plus. So I placed the included magnetic ring on the back of my iPhone 8 Plus, and it stuck well, but when I put the phone on the magnetic mount, it was so strong that it stuck to the mount, but not the back of the iPhone.So I then used the magnetic ring stuck to the back of my Android phone (which has a thin protective silicon case) and it worked perfectly with the magnetic mount.My iPhone 8 plus case is a big Otterbox case, and doesn’t work well with the magnetic mount, probably won’t be an issue with newer iPhones with MagSafe like 13, 14, 15 and 16 unless the case is too thick.I was able to use this magnetic mount with standard accessories and it worked great. Also makes a nice phone stand on a table or desk.

If you're looking for a very minimal stand for your phone, then you've found it. It can function as a ring holder, kickstand, or cold shoe mount for a light or mic that you may want to use when recording with your phone. The quality is great, the metal is painted a nice metallic black, and the whole thing is very smooth and has a very strong magnetic hold and hinges that seem to hold up really well. Very happy with this piece.

I'm a big fan of MagSafe accessories and when they have extra features baked in like this? even better. That said, I do think this one can use some improvement.Like most diminutively sized products with friction hinges, these do not have any tightening knobs. So it is good that the hinges are stiff enough to hold small accessories like a video light and such. Normally this would be an excellent thing to have but as irony would have it, with a lack of something more easily grabbable, it is rather difficult to extend the arms of this phone ring. There is nothing substantial enough to leverage your fingers on to engage the hinges, nor any real space to pass your fingers under to pry open, so your options are either to remove the ring and push it out before placing the ring back on, or to use a cold shoe accessory to pull the mount out.As a MagSafe accessory just sitting on the back of your phone at all times, it's not the greatest score either. It doesn't sit super stable, which is understandable given that the cold shoe mount protrudes quite a bit, and while it can be used as a kickstand the difficulty to engage the cold shoe is once again really difficult. The magnet side of the accessory is plastic lined rather than rubber or silicone lined, and it is a strong magnet, so be careful when dropping it onto the back of a bare phone. But with a bare phone or paired with a case with strong magnets too, this thing isn't going anywhere.So in the end, this is a funny balance between god usability and bad deployability. It's a good mount if you want to use a cold shoe accessory to your phone, or if you want to add a 1/4" mount to your phone that isn't itself on an extendable arm. You'll just need to extend the arm out before putting it on (or back on) to your phone.
