I had the opportunity to product test the Melonare MWU-20 2-Channel Wireless Microphone System recently at my church. Here are my thoughts:Initial Unboxing: the box doubles as a carrying case, which is great as a solution until I can make a more sturdy and permanent one. Everything is packaged individually and bagged up and comes with a 1/4” cable with a 1/8” adapter, two antennae, and color-coded “resting rings” for those not using them with mic stands (personally not my thing, but I also know some who rely on these for karaoke shows). The mics themselves are a combination of plastic and metal with the former being the upper part of the mic and the latter being the cover for the batteries. The bottom of the mics are also color-coded; the downside here is that they have no indication as to which ones match to the receiver. That would be helpful right out of the box to further the reasoning for the colors on the mics. The mics have a solid weight to them, which is a plus for me: I appreciate that when I am holding the mic for performance. Mics that have too much plastic to them remind me of the line from the first Men in Black from Will Smith of “I feel like I’m gonna break this **** thing!”.The test itself: I installed the receiver at the back of our stage. Assembling the antennae to the back of the receiver was easy, as was connecting the power cable. The XLR connections to the back of the receiver did not click in place, but they stayed there during the testing. This may be a personal preference, but I wanted to put that out there in case this is more important to others as well. If you are not moving them around a lot, this shouldn’t be an issue, so don’t let that be a deal breaker. There also seems to be a trend in the last couple of years to have individual mic volume controls on the receiver. I feel like this should only be used by the ¼” Out and for those using the XLR Outs letting their board do the work there. Again, not a deal breaker but more of a personal preference. My sound engineer began by doing a search for the best frequency, which was found QUICKLY. We use a number of wireless mics and belt packs for both mics and in-ear monitors, so the fact that the frequences were found that fast was impressive. Also using the IR function to match the frequencies to the mics was quick and easy. Once the mics were powered up, there was some brief work with our EQ to get the richest sound. From there, I started working with each mic individually, speaking and singing into them from the stage, down the aisle on stage left, through the main doors to the sanctuary, around to the opposite doors, coming back down the aisle to stage right, and back up to the stage. There was no phasing or loss of signal, staying strong the entire way (there is a picture from our sound booth to the stage for reference; the doors are about another six feet behind where that picture was taken). The biggest compliment in this process came from our sound engineer, who has a very rich and deep background in A/V, who said “These sound as solid as some Shure wireless mics that I have used!”. And for the price point, that is HUGE.Overall: The Melonare MWU-20 is a GREAT product for those looking for quality wireless mics and a seriously affordable price. I will be using these for my own shows coming up for karaoke and a bit of live performance, so I highly recommend them!

Melonare has upped their game on this wireless microphone system. They have a great sound and handle powerful vocals. The body of the hand held microphones are metal and the handling noise is dramatically less than plastic body microphones. While this does not come with a rackmount kit and I don't yet see it available, the reciever does have screw holes that appear to be designed for rack ears, so I'm thinking that will soon be an option that was not available on their other systems.I'd definitely recommend this system.

So my band Contrøller will be playing a cruise later this year and we wanted a little weight yet strong fully metal wireless that had adjustable UHF frequency options. In walks the MWU-20! It delivers on all the listed requirements above, looks good, and sounds crisp. Highly recommend if you're on the move a lot and need something strong and durable for you and a backup vocalist

This is one powerful 2 mic system. The range and clarity is very impressive. After hooking it up. and that took about 5 mins . I tested the range inside and outside the building I went about 240 feet and worked perfectly. I stated out with a flat EQ and then adjusted for my voice and was very impressed with the sound quality. Great deal for this unit.

While this is not Shure or Sennheiser unit it is still very nice and perfectly good for light gigging and karaoke use.Good clear sound and great connection. The mics are substantial and made of solid materials including metal which is a nice add.No rack mount kit which is a pain but I'm sure I can dream something up.Nice low cost option for occasional use and great for beginning bands who cant afford a grand for this type of wireless system.
