The Rawhide maracas are great, the sound comes through with that old fashion flavor that I recall when my father used maracas that were hand made of hide, their sound is dry and it penetrates any band including big bands, I'm performing with them and I'm happy with my choice. I also have the rawhide maracas with the Puerto Rican Flag painted on them, ''but'' they are heavier and the sound is not as pure as the plain rawhide.
