I checked out a wide range of lava lamps, and decided on this one, and I was not disappointed. It is a good size, bigger than many, and a lovely shape, not too thin. The colour is a lovely blue, with white wax bubbles. It is lovely to look at, and very relaxing! Things to note: it does not give off much light, so we don't use it as a lamp, we use a separate lamp for light in the room. It doesn't start working immediately. It takes about an hour for the wax to heat up, before it starts moving. The base of the lamp gets very hot, which could be an issue for whatever it is standing on. But I stand mine on a round coaster, which was the perfect size and perfect solution! I am very happy with this lamp, and would definitely recommend.

takes a very long time to actually heat up and do its thing. I've had a lava lamp when I was younger and only took up to 2 hours at most to heat up and do its thing. This one sometimes I'll have it on all night with nothing happening. But can take about 4 hours to actually do its thing. But still a good night light for my son. Not too bright and not too dark.

Item arrived damaged with the aluminum base and cap dented

I ordered this and when it arrived, we realized it will not work in a standard electrical outlet in the United States. So we ordered an adapter because my son was adamant about keeping the lamp. Adapter came and the lamp still does not work properly--not enough heat to get the wax warmed up. So, now we are stuck with this item that doesn't work. They do not provide a shipping label, so inconvenient to return. Do not buy this!
