It's all a matter of horses for courses when it comes to tools like these, and with many reviews seeming to disregard the price point and lump them all together, that's hardly fair. This is a budget power tool at a budget price, and it performs very well within that category. If I were a tradesman using the saw daily, I'd certainly want a higher-spec model from an established brand, but I'm not. It cuts well enough, not as fast as some, but I'm not spending hours using it anyway, it doesn't have a 'true' pendulum action but it works, it gets the job done and that's ok by me. The 'Fit-Bat' range of which this is a member also means that I don't have to have duplicate batteries and chargers littering my workshop (shed) as I can swap them between tools. So in conclusion I'd say it's a decent DIY tool within the price range if you can't justify 3 times the price for a market-leading Yellow and Black model.

Impressed with this affordable jigsaw! Surprisingly robust for the price, it gets the job done without breaking the bank. A great entry-level option for DIY enthusiasts or occasional users. Highly recommended for its value and performance.

Built to a good standard.Real makita batteries fit OK with a bit of an extra push.Plastic sole plate is a nice touch and the blades are easy to change.

Makita battery fitted well. Description states Straight Cut + 3 Orbital settings. Item received is marked 0,1,2, none of which provide any 'orbital' blade movement. 1 and 0 settings simply move the blade guide forward to fixed positions, not allowing orbital movement. This puts static load on the back of the blade forcing it forward to a fixed angle. This clearly puts the motor under more strain. Setting 2 takes this force off the blade giving straight up and down movement without the strain caused with settings 0 and 1. Cuts through thin ply on setting 2. Struggles with anything thicker. With new quality blades and fully charged battery gave up trying to cut 45mmx45mm softwood. Setting 0 or 1 makes things worse.
