I ordered this switch for my Hubby to use in as a replacement in our camper van so although not the same vehicle, he is able to utilise it. The switch comes with a separate plug in wiring ‘loom’ which is about 20cm long. The switch itself typically feels very much like rigid plastic, as a lot of cars & vans from certain manufacturers do nowadays. The wires although ‘full copper’, have very rigid insulation & are not easy to manipulate when connecting to the rest of the wiring loom.In the description, it states that the switch has a current capacity of 0.5A, so is only suitable to switch the power to a relay, as is usually the case. He had some trouble finding & then understanding the connection details as no instructions or diagrams are included with the switch & the wire colours stated in the listing are not the wire colours of the item received. As the wires are in 2 pairs (pins 1&2 & pins 4&5 of the 5 pin connector), he was able to decipher which the switch light pair were: Black for Negative & Red with a Yellow stripe for Positive. This lit the Switch Text (in this case ‘Spot lights’) but the spill of light within the switch means that the picture is also quite well illuminated. The remaining 2 wires were Red with a Yellow stripe and Green; the listing states that the Input Positive Pole is Yellow & the Output Positive Pole is Green. He tried using the Green as the Output Positive Pole as described, but although it switched the Relay, the Light behind the picture was always on. He swapped the wires over so that the Green was wired to the Input Positive & the Red/Yellow went to the Positive of the Relay - that seemed to work with switching the Light behind the Picture on & the Relay on when the Switch was latched on.The fit into the dashboard is adequate & not too sloppy. There are a pair of notches (one at the top & the other at the bottom) to aid with the removal of the switch by depressing the hook catches which is useful. The price is acceptable for this type of switch.
