Previous owners had Hunter Node installed in valve vault in middle of lawn. That controller failed and it was a no Brainer to put in this BT Node controller. Works perfectly except I wish there were a test mode. Only operates from a program.

Eight years ago we installed nine hunter 1 and 2 station WVC controllers for front yards in our townhome complex. They have performed fairly well, having to replace four of them due to product failures. The WVP programmer is not that easy to use to program the controllers, and they also can fail. I’ve had to replace one already and they are quite expensive. We also had a 4 station Hunter Node controller for our common area that has been replaced 3 times over maybe 15 years. The screen got where you couldn’t read it. Last year I replaced the 4 station Node with the Hunter 4 station Bluetooth controller and connected it to the app on my phone. The interface to programming the each station is well thought out and very easy to use. It takes 2 9 volt batteries which last about a year. Not pleased with battery life, but it is Bluetooth so it it probably doing a lot of polling for the phone app. Hunter also designed extra layers to seal the controller and battery compartment from water. I like the product so much that I replaced a recently failed WVC with this unit and will continue to do that as the rest of the WVCs fail. Not sure of the reliability yet, so I bought the extended warranty. It sure seems like this Hunter solution is the best they have done so far for areas without power.

Easy to install from a prior device. However, you need to be within 10' of the device to get any linkage coverage
