The simplex are the best soft face mallets. They have interchangeable faces so you can’t wear out the hammer itself. This model is a cast iron hammer head which is nice, adds decent weight. they also make aluminum but its too light for me. The wood handle is more pleasant to me than the rubber and fiber glass, also much cheaper. the over sized faces on this hammer are great but i have the blue swapped out for hard red plastic and sometimes nylon. anyway buy the hammer

the design is so beautiful. Grip is also excellent. Works as expected.

Use it for paving and the blue parts pop off all the time
