This is a versatile sun shade and tarp suitable for many applications.We are using it on our month long camping adventure. It works well to shade our picnic table, cover our tent or for extra shade at the lake.It is a 10 x 14’ sheet with a shiny, metallic surface on one side and a blue waterproof surface on the other side. The shiny side is best for reflecting heat.There are plenty of grommets and nylon webbed attachment points for running the enclosed guy lines which include handy line tensioners. The grommets and guy lines allow for positioning and tightening in many configurations.So, you could simply run a single rope “spine” and tie and stake down the sides or if supporting sides will allow, an angled wind break for more of an open-faced shelter. Your call, depending on trees, available support poles, any additional tie-down ropes needed and your ingenuity.This tarp offers a lot of flexible opportunity for shelter from rain or sun at an affordable, market price.Highly recommended and would buy it again.

What I like about this: it’s a good size, and the cut provides flexibility in how it can be set up. You can use it for a rain fly, a shelter for one or two, or an emergency bicycle. All the seams are taped, and the attachment straps are bar tacked for strength. One side has an metallic coating that reflects sunlight and heat. It can be turned outwards in hot weather to help keep it cool, or inwards, to keep heat in at night. It comes with stakes and ready-cut lines, each of which has a plastic tensioner attached.What could be improved: The seal tape and attachment straps are made of a woven, uncoated material that will absorb and hold water. The steel rings placed in the attachment straps are simply bent, not welded, and will likely open up and pull out if subjected to a heavy wind load. It’s heavy for a one-person shelter- heavier than some tents and bivouac shelters.Overall, I think it’s a good product. You could put seam sealer on the binding, and run lines or mini-biners directly through the cloth loops. And as a multi-person shelter for picnics or the beach it’ll do just fine.

Used this on a recent camping trip and was impressed with its size. I set this up to cover my cooking area and this gave me plenty of room to use my tables and provided a lot of shade through the day. The Tarp turned all the rain we had and kept the dew off of my goodies at night. I had stretched this fairly tight and at a pitch and it seemed very sturdy . I loved the large size and the built in tie down loops. The tarp is fairly thick and I should get a lot of use out of this while camping.
