I'm a pretty big fan of Amazon basics, and have several pieces of clothing by them. I would say that I like and don't completely love these shorts. The other reviews I've read are pretty spot on. These are very lightweight shorts with performance material that drives quickly and wears well. They have very big buckets on the outsides of both legs that can look a little dorky, especially if there's stuff in them. For me the fit was a little big in the waist but not too much. As others have said there is a lot of elasticity to them, so even if you pull the drawstring tight they can sag a bit if they're a little march to start with. The shorts are also quite long. I am 6 ft 4 and got a large and the shorts make it right to my knee bend. So, if you like longer shorts, you need a lot of cargo space in your cargo shorts, and if you are in between sizes and order a size down, these shorts should be perfect. Otherwise I would say they are good and not great.

Very nice fitting shorts, nice length. We ended up buying a bunch for a vacation and they are great.

I am nearly always a medium size in shorts (I have a 34" waist and am 6ft 2" tall), but these Amazon Essentials are probably an inch possibly even two inches a bit too big. Thankfully, they are elasticated and they also have a decent inside drawstring to tighten them up a bit. That said, the do stay up, so I guess the elastic works well. They are very comfortable to wear.The colour in real life is a little darker than the advertised photo, but I prefer the darker colour. They are made with a material that feels like it is sporty and technical, but they look like a pair of casual shorts. They will be great for beach holidays and possibly vacation hiking. The pockets have a little vented hole in them, which will also help let any water drain out should you end up paddling a bit too deep in the sea. At the time of review in mid-March 2025, they are listed at £20.90 but with the chance to take a further 15% off thanks to a digital voucher, which makes them good value for money.

Geliefert wird die Hose wie mittlerweile üblich in einem kleinen Kunststoffzipbehälter. Die Hose an sich ist etwas größer als erwartet. Ich hatte M bestellt und trage normalerweise Jeansgröße 36 - 38. Trotzdem ist M fast zu groß. Dank des integrierten Schnürbundes kann man sie aber so fest machen, daß sie noch sitzt.Das Material ist dank des Elastan Anteil etwas dehnbar, so daß die Hose auch auf Bergwanderungen eingesetzt werden kann, da sie sich bei großen Ausfallschritten mitdehnt und nicht die Muskeln einschnürt. Die Cargotaschen werden durch je zwei Druckknöpfe verschlossen, so daß Geldbeutel etc sicher verstaut sind. Da das Material recht dünn ist, sind Schlüssel in den Cargotaschen etwas unangenehm, da diese sofort durchdrücken.Vorteil der Hose ist das Kunststoffmaterial, da die Hose so praktisch keine Wasser aufnimmt, bzw. sehr schnell trocknet. Das ist gut wenn man schwitzt (Bergwandern) oder in den Regen kommt. Nachteil (oder Vorteil - je nachdem), die Hose wärmt praktisch nicht. Die Hosentaschen sind übrigens ausreichend tief und innen aus einem brauchbaren Material, so daß das Telefon nicht gleich geschmeidig herausgleitet.Würde die Größenangabe etwas besser passen könnte man für den Preis auch 5 Sterne vergeben.

Ich habe die Amazon Essentials Cargo-Short für meinen Mann bestellt.Das Material besteht aus 86% Nylon und 14% ElasthanDie Hose ist sehr leicht und sehr dünn, perfekt für warme Tage. Sie lässt sich mit einem Reißverschluss und normalem Knopf schließen, zusätzlich gibt es eine Schnur im Bund. Die Hose hat keine Gürtelschlaufen, die muss also schon sitzen.Die Hose hat normale Eingrifftaschen und große Seitentaschen. Diese sind mit Druckknöpfen geschlossen.Der Stoff selber ist leicht flexibel, die Gummieinsätze geben noch mal Luft an der Taille.Die Größe XL fällt relativ groß aus. Die Hose sitzt bequem, durch die fehlenden Gürtelschlaufen aber auch so knapp an der Grenze zum rutschen. Der Stoff trocknet nach der Wäsche sehr schnell.Anmerkung:Ich habe das Produkt im Rahmen des Vine-Programms kostenlos testen können.
