I have a Manfrotto 785B tripod. A while back I lost the plate for holding the camera onto the tripod. Manfrotto appear to have discontinued this model and hence no longer make the plate so I had to get a third party replacement. This fitted fine but the screw thread which holds the camera onto the plate is too long, so the camera is not held securely. I got round that problem by adding some cardboard between the camera and the plate. This works quite well but doesn’t look too good so I decided to get some from a different supplier - this one. The screw thread is now a perfect fit and the plate fits perfectly to the camera. Unfortunately the plate is too loose and the camera is quite wobbly. I’ve got round that problem with using insulating tape to pad out the gap which caused the camera to wobble, and it now seems to work fine.I shouldn’t really need to make those alterations and modifications, so I must continue my search for the original plate.

ho due treppiedi e non avevo le piastre che non si vendono più , ho visto queste e potevano essere la risposta. Spedizione rapida , materiale di buona qualità ma il problema è che non si bloccano completamente , la fotocamera non penso possa staccarsi ma si muove esageratamente perché le piastre sembra sisno prive degli spessori laterali ( dalle foto degli originali così pare) oppure sono più piccoli degli originali fatto sta che li ho dovuti restituire per poi cercare qualcosa di usato . p.s. sono arrivati anche senza i piccoli perni rossi di blocco ma fosse stato solo questo li avrei tenuti .

Lost my Manfrotto quick release mount. There are two issues you need to resolve to get a stable camera using this mount. When my Olympus camera was screwed into the mount (plate), there was a a couple of mm gap between camera and plate resulting in camera wobble. This of course defeats the purpose of tripod, however I used a suitable thin cushioned tape and stuck this on the plate successfully creating a snug fit between camera and plate. Then I've also noticed there is some give between the plate and the tripod mount, again causing wobble. I will try to find somehting to plug the gap since pack of 2 is useful and good value for money. Good materials used though. Has a red screw for video camera I think - not needed for stills camera but means you have to mount it with the button out of the way of camera to avoid obtruction when fitting.
