Getreu diesem Motto werden wir bei zukünftigen Caravan-Reisen unseren jeweiligen Energieverbrauch mit diesem Stromzähler zusätzlich zum Vergleich auch selbst messen. Hierfür ist dieser zu testende und ca. 12,5cm x 7cm x 7,5cm große Stromverbrauchsmesser ideal. Er wird mit seiner CEE-Kupplung und dem CEE-Stecker einfach zwischen die Zuleitung vom Schaltschrank des Stellplatzes kommend zum Wohnmobil gesteckt. Dabei hat der Zähler zwei Vorteile. Erstens werden die Verbauchswerte nicht einfach gelöscht wenn man den Stecker zieht bzw. wenn der Anschluss abgeschaltet wird. Zweitens kann man den Zähler auch zurücksetzen um damit auf einem neuen Stellplatz wieder bei Null anzufangen. Da die beiden jeweils ca. 1,5m langen Anschlusskabel in 2.5 mm² Kupfer ausgeführt sind, ist auch ein Stromfluss von max. 16A gefahrlos möglich. Damit der Zähler allen Witterungen trotzen kann, ist er in einem wasserdichten Gehäuse eingebaut. Um auch in der Nacht gut ablesbar zu sein, besitzt sein Display eine eigene, wirksame LED-Hintergrundbeleuchtung.

Ein super hochwertiger Stromzähler mit ebenso hochwertigen CEE Steckern. Optimal um seinen Verbrauch in gewissen Situationen genau zu messen. Alles ist sehr sauber verarbeitet und zusammengeschraubt und die ersten Tests mit 16 A Dauerlast, lassen auch kaum Erwärmung erkennen.

The unit comes with thick rubber coated 3 wire 2.5 square mm cable (16A), quality CEE (blue) Plug and socket with cable glands rather than the cheaper push through seals. The unit is made of solid plastic and cable entrance and exit are also sealed via glands. The front transparent cover clips down and can also be screwed down using a knob. There is a small hole to allow a security seal which may be required if the unit is being used to charge for electricity used. There may be an issue for some providers if they do not have a seal as the usage can be reset. However, if the initial reading is high enough a providers may be happy to take the difference in meter readings as a reset would be obvious. The led flashes 1600 times per Kilowatt hour and counts consumption to a resolution of 0.1 KW h. Turning off the power or testing the RCB did not reset the consumption reading. The unit cannot be taken to an office to be read as it requires a power supply to see the reading.I will be using this unit for camping. Most sites seem to charge a fixed rate per day which is much higher than the electricity I am likely to use. It is worth having a meter just for information and on the off chance that a site might charge less based on usage. However, the main advantage will be the built in RCB which adds protection near the supply end and is independent of any protection the camp site might have. This unit provides a neat waterproof solution and is a significant improvement on my current solution using than a less well protected 3 pin uk plug based RCB at the end of the lead.For my boat I had to buy a few years ago a unit costing several times the cost of this unit. It is built into the lead, has no RCB and but does record the consumption using mechanical digital display which cannot be reset. This seems to be the preferred solution in my marina but I have noticed the occasional unit which has a similar housing to this one. If it had been available I would have considered asking the marina if this unit was acceptable given that it has a reset function. The unit does not have a serial number which might be an issue in some circumstances.

Great value for money, others have paid much more on our Marina for alternative products
