キヤノンのＦ2.８の望遠レンズが欲しかったので、手振れ補正・防塵性などの機能がある最新型ではありませんが、描写力のあるこのレンズに行き当たりました。商品は表記どうり非常にきれいな状態で、本日５ＤⅡに装着して確認しましたが、静かにスムーズに正常に動作しました。カメラと合わせると重量感はありますが、とても安定感があり満足しています。

This is a great lens for the price. Great quality shots. It is a little bit heavy but soon get used to it and no camera shake in the pictures as has a stabilizer.

Solido come una roccia, con verniciatura bianca, bella da vedere e resistente, dotato di tropicalizzazione: ogni aspetto di questo obiettivo dà una sensazione di strumento professionale. Ha due larghe ghiere di gomma per la messa a fuoco e lo zoom, e quattro selettori laterali. Come altri teleobiettivi professionali, ha un selettore per la limitazione di messa a fuoco. Un bel miglioramento in confronto alla versione precedente è la distanza minima di fuoco di 1.2 metri, invece di 1.4. La ridotta distanza di messa a fuoco è di grande aiuto quando il soggetto è molto vicino e permette anche di raggiungere un miglior rapporto di riproduzione (0.21x, abbastanza buono per uno zoom 70-200).L'AF è molto veloce; ha un motore ad anello chè da sia un AF veloce e silenzioso che full time manual focus. Non ho notato evidenti miglioramenti nella velocità in confronto con gli altri 70-200 2.8 che avevo provato, ma l'AF di questi obiettivi è già eccellente per un telezoom: non resterete delusi. Se volete ancora più velocità con soggetti distanti, posizionando il limitatore di fuoco su 2.5mt-infinito otterrete il massimo dall'AF.Ovviamente il 70-200 è compatibile con i moltiplicatori, ma in questo caso aspettatevi una riduzione della qualità d'immagine e della velocità dell'AF.

Le ghiere sono molto fluide e precise e i pulsanti ben posizionati e comodi da utilizzare. Having owned the f4 version for a while (before) I kind of knew what to expect... but I was still surprised by this lens!First of all, yes, it is heavy... it's built like a tank and weights as much as a turret! :))That being said it is built exquisitely, holding this in your hand you know you have a quality product, the switches are firm and give you that "quality click" when you move them, the zoom and focus rings are as smooth as a baby's bum and the images... oh the images... as sharp as a razor blade thats has a hidden killer power laser on it - and thats just from 1 day of use that I just got from it!I am using it on a full frame (Mark 3) so I dont get as much "reach" as a crop sensor... this kind of leaves me wanting a bit more reach at times so I am also going in for a 1.4 and 2x extender.Shooting indoors is fantastic with this, shooting outdoors I actually had some trouble as the images were coming washed out!This piece of alien tech scoops up sooo much light that I had to go on my lowest ISO setting and go past f8 at times just so I didnt lose detail when shooting outside (I presently have no filters to cut the light, this takes 77mm filters which if you look on Amazon cost a little more than what I would get after selling one of my kidneys!)The bokeh is like butter, but you already know that... ;)Portraits look fabulous. Heck! Put a frog in front and in post processing you're gonna see a prince/princess!(Does also work the other way around, put prince Charles in front of it and in post processing you will always see a frog!)(Your results may vary)Picked it up from Amazon as their return policies in the first year of ownership is second to none, I plan on doing quite a lot of shooting with this and its good to know if anything goes wrong - I'm totally covered. Hat tip to Amazon for getting it to me ASAP as they knew I was going on my trip...It comes with a very decent carrying pouch / lens cover and I'm glad Canon didnt go all cheap the way they do with a lot of their other lenses (ahem, 70-300L) and included the lens collar with the lens. It's a heavy lens, I'm happier knowing its holding my camera up than thinking the camera is holding this up.In short, love it, the price still stings (its a new purchase) but I think it will lose its sting as I use the lens more. It's a solid build, you can knock a camera thief on the head with this and it feels like it will still work perfectly fine, the other thing that I keep reminding myself is that this lens holds its value very very well (just in case...).I wanted to post a few pictures that I took out but looking at other posts I see that Amazon censors the links :(Got a question? Conventional wisdom holds that the more powerful a telephoto lens you mount on your camera, the more you may need a tripod for shake-free images. With patience and breath control many photographers have long been able take crisp handheld shots with lenses of focal lengths up to 400mm. That ability can now be extended to almost everyone through technology. The best modern DSLRS can produce crisp handheld images with short exposures at high ISO settings and, coupled with good image stabilization lenses, can effectively expand the focal length (or power, if you will) of lenses that can be used to advantage without a monopod or tripod.Still, it remains the case that a great percentage of the distant images that most amateur or enthusiast photographers will want to capture can be taken with telephoto lenses that do not exceed 400mm. In that case, any lens that covers all or most of the range between 100mm and 400mm is a reasonable candidate to add to your photography kit. If you feel an unmet need to take frame-filling moonrises behind a ghostly oak tree on a remote ridge, you can get a dedicated 1000mm lens later on.For a general purpose telephoto lens, this 70-300mm zoom can't be beat. In my experience the optics have produced crisp images at any focal length and at most aperture settings, though images taken with apertures at the middle of its range (f/11, for example) appear just slightly sharper than ones taken with a wide open lens.Canon has thoughtfully included two different image stabilization modes for the benefit of individuals who use the lens in different ways. Mode 1 is for general purpose image stabilization when the camera is held still to capture a stationary field of view. Mode 2 is used for panning shots in which the photographer is following an item or individual in motion. This mode locks out attempts to correct for blur in the direction of camera motion. And you can of course lock out IS altogether if you are so inclined. Autofocus can also be locked out in case you are shooting nearby objects from a tripod and want to pick the exact focal point of the image field yourself. The word "macro" is printed on the lens, but that strikes me as a little aspirational. I would consider this lens a close-focusing zoom, as you can get fairly close-up images of smaller objects that are a little distance away. Minimum focusing distance is just under five feet, and at that distance the 300mm setting will let you fill the frame with an object about five inches wide. This could be a good lens to capture images of large winged insects and even hummingbirds, as those interesting subjects are notoriously intolerant of close approach by photographers. For true macro photography of flower details or smaller insects, you should mount a different lens.At the other end of its zoom range, focal length in the 70-135 range is excellent for portrait photography or casual snapshots that isolate individuals or groups of two or three in large gatherings.Build quality is excellent, options for use are rich, optical performance is excellent and the lens, though not tiny or light, is compact and manageable. Canon makes other, more expensive lenses with similar design features that might better satisfy the most critical photographers, but in light of the relatively low cost of this lens and its great flexibility, this has to be one of the best general purpose lenses that Canon manufactures.Recommended.

Di fronte ad un obiettivo del genere ci si chiede se davvero possa esistere un ottica migliore e se sia possibile raschiare ancora qualcosa sul fondo del barile senza incocciare nel muro costituito dalle leggi della fisica. Dopo una decina di giorni di utilizzo del "Mark II" posso solo confermare i risultati delle prove di laboratorio: una nitidezza estrema, quasi "tagliente" in tutta l'estensione focale e, soprattutto, già alla massima apertura. La distorsione geometrica è molto contenuta, come anche la vignettatura (per lo meno con un corpo APS-C). Stupisce anche l'aberrazione cromatica, o meglio la sua assenza, anche sui bordi ad elevatissimo contrasto. Fenomenale lo stabilizzatore: i quattro stop dichiarati ci stanno tutti e non è poi così improbabile portare a casa un buono scatto anche con pose attorno al mezzo secondo. Ottimo l'autofocus, rapidissimo e super-preciso.La costruzione è impeccabile e l'unico appunto riguarda l'impossibilità di sfilare il collare (fornito di serie con paraluce e custodia morbida, quasi una stranezza per Canon) senza rimuovere l'obiettivo dalla macchina. Il peso e le dimensioni non sono certo indifferenti; tuttavia, una volta innestato sulla macchina il bilanciamento è ottimo, con il baricentro che cade più o meno sulla ghiera dello zoom. E' una valutazione soggettiva, ma il feeling è ottimo e la fatica non si sente più di tanto: nel corso di una partita di calcio con oltre 600 scatti la fatica non si è fatta sentire pur non avendo utilizzato un monopiede, ma mi rendo conto che una donna o un maschio meno corpulento di me potrebbe pensarla diversamente.Proprio lo sport è una delle applicazioni più indicate per questo obiettivo: quando si tratta di congelare l'azione il rapporto focale di f/2.8 permette di guadagnare quello stop sul tempo di esposizione (rispetto al fratellino f/4) che può fare la differenza tra una buona foto ed una inutilizzabile (a parità di ISO). Ma ci sono vantaggi, a mio avviso, anche per i ritratti (soprattutto outdoor) o per le foto macro, dove una ridotta profondità di campo può risultare molto utile per far scomparire uno sfondo ingombrante.Se l'azione non è tra le vostre priorità, probabilmente la versione f/4 è la scelta più logica, vista anche la notevole differenza di prezzo (e la qualità pressochè identica). Una buona alternativa, per l'utilizzo prettamente sportivo, potrebbe essere anche la versione f/2.8 non stabilizzata. Tuttavia, se volete abbinare la massima qualità e la massima flessibilità di utilizzo, il 70-200 f/2.8L IS II USM è quanto di meglio si possa chiedere ad un 70-200, soprattutto ora che (grazie ad Amazon) il prezzo è di poco superiore ai 1900 Euro (6/6/2011).
