I got a MaxiCosy without this part, and it was very hard to find this, so I was happy to find it on amazon for a good price. And it does work: it prevents the head from moving too much and gives support. However, the material is very "plastic", which makes my baby very sweaty and hot in the neck and back. It really misses some kind of breathable fabric or layer to make the baby feel comfortable in the seat.
