I used Pi 4. So I will write my experience here.I had to remove all heat sinks. There is no gap at all between this board and the Pi.The header pins are too short. Maybe with a male to female 1 cm extender, heat sinks can be attached again.There were no screws, no standoffs included.The instructions on Waveshare Wiki page for this device is confusing. There are official "Official Systems" images. No idea whether they are also suitable for Pi 4. There are instructions for Bookworm Lite Pi OS version. Should these instructions also be followed with "Official Systems"? No idea.I used "Official Systems" image bookworm. Then followed first few instructions of "Bookworm system display configuration" section. Then the display started to work after a reboot. It was showing normal Pi user interface. Mouse pointer was also displayed without any delay.I do not know how to get a gaming console like interface. I stopped at this stage. I will try with a Pi Zero some other day, which should be readily usable because of ready made image provided on Waveshare Wiki.Overall excellent product.Main drawbacks:Lack of standoffs, lack of screws, lack of housing, lack of end-user suitable button caps.

Personally, I wouldn't game on this thing, but I think it is well-suited for an outreach workshop or hands-on embedded computing experience for young students. It's so cheap that you can get one for every student and use it to show them how to set it up and get hands-on experience with Python or whatever you're working with. Since I'm looking at this in terms of using it in that way, I'm not rating it low for lacking a case or screws or whatever else. This is a DIY item for DIY purposes. If you want it in a case, build one. The quality is exactly what I've come to expect from WaveShare -- well-made with minimal, but purposeful packaging. This doesn't come with a guide telling you how to use it, so I just searched for info online and went from there.
