Rods loose on one of the sticks. Heat seal inadequate. Do your research and take heed of the reviews.

Bought these along with the Route 505 for lower volume acoustic kit performance. These are definitely nicer to use than the 505 with a much more natural feel, weight and rebound but the "shrink wrap" at the top binding the "routes" together onto the stick soon worked loose (I glued them in the end). The little rubber band that adjusts the route spread wasn't happy staying put either. But... for the closest thing to an actual drumstick for use but with reduced volume, these are excellent. Just hope they last longer than they look like they're going to...!** EDIT **Two months and eight "light pop music" rehearsals down the line and - as suspected - they are not holding up well at all. The hollowing-out of the stick to insert the plastic rods into is a weak area... ultimately causing the stick to split under regular playing. The rods themselves still seem to be holding firm though. My "supergluing" of the shrink wrap worked loose after a couple of weeks. I have now resorted to light use of heavy duty fabric tape (used for automotive wire looming to hold everything together. This has't changed the balance of the stick... I'm just hoping for more durability. Have knocked the review down to three stars based on cost and durability... but I still recommend them.

I play jazz,country and rock and often play in some smaller rooms. This stick fit's the bill. A little top heavy which I like because you can really lay into the snare when you need to. Helped with my bounce on sixteenth note patterns one handed on the high hat. I like the sound of the poly synthetic material rather than wooden dowel rods like Hot Rods. Great for both rim clicks and rim shots. Nice long hickory stick (16 inchs I think) with a beautiful walnut finish. The rubber/plastic that connects the stick to the rods has a great sound as well. Great stick with multi usages

Work great.. Still maintains softer sound for smaller rooms - but has more definition.
