Cheap torque tools have come a long way, from all being boring chromed models with a bolt through the base to the current anodised black versions with fancy colour coordinated anodised accessories like this one, with it's purple lock ring and base cap.It looks good and the markings are much easier to read than the old stamped versions being lasted Into the black anodising creating a contrasting silver scale. The handle is ribbed which is grippy enough when dry and oil free though I do prefer knurling for grip.Adjustment is smooth, though there is quite a bit of slop/backlash in the handle when locked.Seems to be a 72 tooth ratchet on my counting which is basic but does function well and I have no reason to believe the calibration is off.One oddity of the calibration, despite this clearly being from the same batch as some other reviewers in mid 2025, the certificate for mine shows the same person did the cal exactly too the day 1 year earlier than an earlier review who posted the certificate. Now that's either a massive coincidence.. or the certs are just having some numbers adjusted up and down to randomise them and they accidentally changed the year instead of the date. Ive long wondered exactly how individual these certs are and while this does include the serial and different values, I am curious if these are really actually individually tested, especially at this price.It could just be a typo, but it also affects the tool in that case as it's now already out of calibration if you have a yearly schedule at the time of purchase having happened over a year ago.I'm not saying it's not calibrated, but it does cost about the same as the entire new product to get it calibrated. For that reason alone though it's pretty good value, comes in a nice case and has a certificate, so it's hard not too say it's good value.
