Really good book with lots of twists and turns that kept me up to the early hours of the morning trying to finish it, but giving in at 12.30am as I started to nod off. Finished it once I got up and only towards the last few pages did I work out the actual killer. Liked the main character, Ellen who was a strong person trying to overcome some difficult personal issues. Read the notes at the end and TM Logan only started writing in 2017, he is an author I will definitely look for more books to read.

A woman finds herself fighting for her life when she gets caught up in a plot to save a child. As she tries to pull away from the entire situation, she finds herself worrying about the child’s welfare. She doesn’t know who is after this child or why; all she knows is that she can’t let anything happen to her. Author T.M. Logan is back with his best thriller yet in his newest book Trust Me.Ellen Devlin is on her way home from a disappointing doctor’s appointment when she notices a young mother board the train with an infant in her arms. Mia, the mother calls the baby, even as she falls into a flustered heap in the nearby seat. As the train slows down for a stop, the woman, Kathryn, asks Ellen to hold the baby while she takes a phone call. She’s always wanted to have children, but Ellen knows that possibility is getting further and further away from her. She welcomes the opportunity to take the baby into her arms. Then, before she can understand what’s happening, Ellen sees Kathryn get off the train. It’s almost as if she’s caught in some weird, alternate dimension, and for a moment Ellen thinks Kathryn has made a mistake. Then they make eye contact, and Ellen suspects Kathryn meant to leave. When Ellen finds a note in Mia’s bag with her name scrawled cross the top, she knows for sure Kathryn did this on purpose. But why would a young woman leave her baby behind this way? As Ellen debates her choices on what to do next, she becomes the victim of a kidnapping herself. The man who forces her into a car makes it very clear that she needs to pay attention and follow his instructions, otherwise he won’t leave either her or Mia alive. Now Ellen not only has to worry about Mia’s life; she has to worry about her own as well. She barely manages to escape and get help for both Mia and herself, but the nightmare isn’t over. The police suspect Ellen had something to do with Kathryn’s disappearance and grill her for hours. Then someone breaks into Ellen’s house, not once but twice. After the break-ins DI Gilbourne, the lead officer on the case, starts to believe Ellen when she says she’s an innocent party in the whole bizarre situation, but he’s just as baffled as she is about it. It’s hard to keep his junior partner, DS Holt, in check when the man just wants to charge in and solve everything. Gilbourne may be a few months from retirement, but he’s bound and determined to end his career the same way he’s always handled it: with meticulous thought and examination of the details and facts on hand.Ellen can’t stop thinking about Mia and Kathryn. Her instincts tell her there’s much more to the story than anyone is telling her, and if nothing else for Mia’s sake she knows she has to find out what’s going on. As she starts doing some digging of her own, Ellen discovers that it’s possible Kathryn may have had a good reason for doing what she did.Author T.M. Logan leans heavily on his years as a journalist to offer readers a compelling read. The authenticity that his former career lends to this latest book shines. Logan excels at making the characters real people, a challenge for other writers in the genre who focus more on action and less on the “who” and the “why” of it all.Ellen as a protagonist will win readers over right from the start. Logan allows her to balance her tough side as a military vet with her fragile side as a woman with simple wants in life. The combination makes Ellen come across as relatable, and readers will cheer her on all the way to the end. The plot feels deceptively simple on the surface but proves to be so much more. The book feels like a tightly-wound coil coming undone one tiny turn at a time with each chapter. Readers who like books that will keep them up well past their bedtime will definitely want to check this one out. I recommend readers Binge Trust Me.

I’m a huge fan of T.M. Logan’s thrillers, so I jumped at the chance to read his latest, and I moved it right to the top of my TBR pile. Trust Me is filled with suspense, and the tension is there on every single page. Right from the very start, I had to know what was going on here and I raced through it to find the answers. It is very addictive! At the beginning of the novel, we meet Ellen, who is just boarding a train. She has no idea how what should have been a simple journey will impact the rest of her life. When the woman she is sitting next to asks if she wouldn’t mind looking after her baby, Mia, while she makes a phone call, Ellen expects her to be back any moment. But she doesn’t return. All Ellen finds is a note warning her not to trust the police.Ellen is a great lead character. Straight away, she feels a bond between her and Mia, and she is willing to do anything to protect her. But Ellen doesn’t know who it is she needs to protect Mia from. Why did her mother abandon her? Why can’t she trust the police? I wanted to know what was really going on here as the situation Ellen finds herself in, begins to unfold. Who would want to target an innocent young girl? This is what Ellen can’t quite bring herself to believe. Mia has done nothing wrong; why is she in danger? What can Ellen do to protect her when the police can’t be trusted?Ellen is a character who I connected with very early on. I felt sorry for her as I began to learn more about her life. She has just recently split up with her husband, and she is devastated that she hasn’t been able to have children. She knows now that it is very unlikely to happen to her. Her husband then announces to her that he and his new partner are expecting a baby, which comes as a real blow. When Ellen first comes into contact with Mia, there was a part of me hoping that perhaps, Ellen might be able to adopt her.I was on the edge of my seat right the way through this book. T.M. Logan is an author who knows how to keep his readers turning the page, and I was utterly gripped. There were tense scenes which were packed with action. It made me feel as though I was there, watching everything unfold around me.If you’re a fan of high octane novels, and if you haven’t read anything by T.M. Logan before, then you’re definitely missing out. I’m always really impressed with what he has managed to come up with, and I know I’ll be adding whatever he writes next to my TBR pile right away. Trust Me is a thriller not to be missed.
