Libro bellissimo, l’ho comprato in inglese da regalare… super!

Terrific story, kept my attention all the way. The ending explains so much, what before was rumours, accusations.

Tras el 1-2º capítulo no puedes dejar de leer... Adictivo total!! No se como no lo lei antes! El ingles es sencillo además!

Il libro (che acquistai last-minute dalla app prima di iniziare il volo per la Cina - scelta ottima perchè mi accompagno durante tutte le successive 18 ore del volo) è scritto bene, si legge rapidamente e la storia regge ma a volte è davvero prolisso...dice cose inutili che allungano inesorabilmente il "brodo".... i misteri da risolvere sono essenzialmente 2 ed io non ci sarei mai arrivato. Comunque non è ancora uno scrittore di livello assoluto, deve essere un pò meno scontato in alcune parti, anche se il potenziale ce l'ha... inoltre mi ricordo che rilevai un bel buco di sceneggiatura ma non mi ricordo quale...

Trama avvincente seppur intricata, con molta dinamicità e molti colpi di scena.Difficile da mettere giù, se non quando sì arriva alla fine.Inglese molto semplice e conversazioni fluide e dinamiche.Consigliato come masterpiece moderno e come allenamento di lettura inglese

I've been wanting to read this book for some time and I finally got my hands on this book.I'm a slow reader and I usually read only before going to bed.However, this book kept me reading during my lunch hour at work and after dinner, too.The stroy gets interesting and I simply wanted to know what will happen next.After I finished this book, I was kind of sorry that I couldn't continue.Since I like Patrick Dempsey, I watch the film, too. But as usual, book is 100 times better than film.

Una detective story molto coinvolgente: una volta iniziata a leggere è difficile non finirla. Ha continui colpi di scena. Lingua scorrevole, anche letto in lingua originale. Per chi cerca un grande approfondimento psicologico non è esattamente il libro giusto ( alcuni aspetti sono anche poco realistici); però per chi vuole una lettura che lo faccia allontanare dai problemi quotidiani, immergendosi in una storia con suspense, allora sì, è consigliabile.

I'm Italian and I read English books for learning purposes, so I start my review with the language, that is very clear. It's written in pretty straight style and the translation into English makes it easy to understand. Recommended from this point of view.Secondly, I'm fond of thrillers and this one is definitely very thrilling. A bit too complicated to me, but this is personal preference. Maybe most readers would appreciate this feature of the plot.Last but not least, the start is slow and it gets faster and faster by the page. It required a good amount of trust to go ahead after the extract, but it paid off.

Libro scorrevole con un crescendo di suspense in cui a poco a poco si scopre la verità. Ovviamente molto più articolato di quanto non sia la serie TV. L'idea che ti fai dei personaggi è diversa dall'immagine televisiva ma si tratta di un ottimo libro e dunque non stupisce l'adattamento della serie.

Nonostante alcuni particolari della storia non mi abbiano convinta al 100%, come ad esempio certi errori da dilettante dell'investigatore a capo dell'indagine, do comunque una valutazione alta, perché questo libro mi ha tenuta incollata alle sue pagine fino alla fine. E' uno di quei romanzi che non riuscivo a smettere di leggere, perché dovevo assolutamente scoprire come si sarebbe concluso. E oltre ad aver apprezzato il finale, dettaglio non così scontato, ho trovato anche la piacevole sorpresa di un risvolto imprevisto, cui non avevo per niente pensato.

Eigentlich wollte ich das Buch nicht, da mich der Titel irgendwie nicht angesprochen hatte. Trotzdem wurde ich neugierig und bestellte eine Leseprobe und............war gefangen! Vor 33 Jahren verschwand in der amerikanischen "Klein"- Stadt ein zauberhaftes 15jähriges Mädchen. Es stellte sich heraus, dass der berühmte, geachtete Schriftsteller Harry Quebert in diese 15jährige unsterblich verliebt war. Mehr wird hier nicht verraten. Die Geschichte wird von einem jugendlichen, ebenfalls erfolgreichen Schriftsteller (Freund von J.Quebert und dessen ehemaliger Student) aufgerollt und erzählt. Ausgezeichnet übrigens auch die schriftstellerischen "Regeln" wie ein gutes Buch aufgestellt sein soll. Sehr amüsant empfand ich die Gespräche bzw. Gedanken der involvierten Mütter! Es machte mir große Freude dieses Buch zu lesen und ich nutzte jede Möglichkeit es zu tun.Einziger Kritikpunkt (minus ein halber Stern) ist gegen Ende zu. Nachdem schon alle möglichen Protagonisten als Verdächtige dran waren, wurden auch noch die letzten eingebunden und das erschien mir etwas "overdone". Trotzdem sehr empfehlenswert, besonders als Sommerlektüre auch wegen der gut beschriebenen Umgebung.
