The quality exceeded my expectations here for such a sizeable 'jacket' and the level of detail is good. Not looking forward to washing but have selected this for fancy dress purposes so will hopefully get a few uses out of it before I need to find out.

Absolutely wonderful costume, It looked and felt great. Lovely fabric, it was exactly what i wanted for Cosplay as a reasonable price.

A super Steampunk type gothic style frock coat but works just as well at a Pirate Festival.In a soft crush style velvet with combined and stitched in, inner style waistcoat and embroidery. TBF does look quite “dressy up” more then a standard garment would be.Sizing was accurate but remember you might need something underneath to keep warm so bear that in mind. For once the size of the sleeves were right for the size – someone has been switched on!Although I’d love it for my Pirates Festival costume I’d love to know why I have a charming temperament instead of a chest or what a Medieval Tuxedo is?

I ordered this streampunk tailcoat from the Amazon brand Yordet. It is a very effective and quite striking, but it is certainly a coat costume item, rather than a stylised coat.As a woman, it would not be at all unusual to be able to pick up an item a little like this as a fully-fledged heavyweight coat for day to day wear. A woman's coat with added brocade trim may be a different option if you need a real coat rather than a costume.This is not a heavyweight coat; it is not lined, it is not really velvet; it is more of a long pile microfibre polyester. As you can see the waistcoat is an extention of the coat itself, and the coat cannot fasten over the waistcoat (or even meet edge-to-edge; only the waistcoat fastens). So for example, it would look weird to have it unbuttoned.Now that I have managed your expectations, I'd say this is nevertheless a very attractive item. we often go along to a tourist attraction which has a period cowboy theme, and this would be perfect to go there, or any steampunk-type events. Once on, it is very effective and unless you are super-close-up, it looks rather authentic. The attention to detail is great especially in the brocade, and the waistcoat. I am not sure the waist looks as cinched or the cut is quite so crisp but it is good for me.The costume fits me, I'm not a tall woman so I would wonder if the arms would be long enough for a tall man, especially one with longer arms. The turnup sleeves are for design only - technically you can gain extra length by unfolding the cuffs but the material exposed is a lining material and not the 'velvet' so it doesn't really work.The item arrived in a ziplock bag, inside a cardboard presentation box (the box is pink looks like it should have a bathroom pamper gift it!) The size of the box isn't huge, and it is the first giveaway that this is a lightweight, easy to pack away item. If you are using it for cosplay etc I would certainly take it out the box the day before and hang it out to allow any creases to fall out of the tailcoat part. Or it may need a quick steam to ensure it ends up smooth to wear.The price of £37.99 is on the upper end of what I'd hope to pay for something like this. But you would definitely be among the most dashing of partygoers in it, whether you are a steampunk king, a frontier cowboy or a dandy highwayman. The choice is yours.Four stars.
