Don't think you gotta shell out over 500$ for a quality left-handed bass. This baby is a real piece guaranteed to impress in the looks and sound versatilility department.Looks wise the matte black finish and the striped neck adds an edgy flare. For me the action was set a little low, so I reccomend adjusting the low E to avoid fret clacking. 24 frets in total, which is real handy if your music tastes mean you want to be able to go up that high.Sound-wise I'm using a 50W Orange bass amp, and the knobs (which feel very smooth and well-crafted compared to other bass brands of the same price I've used) controls and the 3-way switch give a wide range of aggressive and mellow tones. The only potential negative was the cable input on the front was a bit finnicky, but it's really an insignificant issue compared to the overall quality of the bass.Wonderful purchase.

I'd tried the Ibanez GSR200 before this model and found it to be a decent beginner's bass, but it made some compromises. This SR300 is just a touch better. Easy to see why it's a model line above the GSR's. Even though the build quality is the same (excellent), the electronics on this model have more dynamic range, so the sound/tone options are wider and richer. This is a light bass, easy to handle and play. The five piece neck has a great feel for my taste, it's thin at the nut, and very smooth, but strong. They say that, if you have a choice of the guitar you learn on, it should be one you like to look at and use. This guitar makes me smile every time I pick it up to practice.
