This SP Silicon Power Portable SSD is fast. It's in the USB Flash Drive form factor and size, however it out paces standard USB 3 flash drives performance-wise.This makes more sense to buy (I paid $29.99) for the performance and it's not much more money versus much slower standard low-end USB 3 flash drives. On my USB 3.0 (5GBPS) system I can't get it's full 10GBPS performance, however when doing a full drive write capacity verification test with H2testw it had a sustained write speed of 223 MB/s during the whole test and that's with it starting to get very warm at 65c.In CrystalDiskMark on my USB 3.0 (5GBPS) system I get sequential read speed 428.8 MB/s, and sequential write speed 418.6 MB/s. On a USB 3.0 (5GBPS) system its almost as fast as an internally installed SATA3 SSD.The only thing I don't like about it is the non-removable cap design on both ends of the drive for Type A and Type C which I think will eventually get in the way of using it with some devices, although it will likely break off.Other:· In Microsoft Windows the 250GB capacity when formatted is 232.88GB.· It comes formatted with the exFAT file system.· In Microsoft Windows TRIM works on it, but only after it's formatted with the NTFS file system.· In Microsoft Windows external NVMe SSD devices like this already seem to have write cache enabled (even when it's shown as not user-enabled in the Hardware settings). I've now seen this with three different brands drives.· It has S.M.A.R.T. built in. The drive temperature, and health status can be viewed in a tool such as CrystalDiskInfo. However S.M.A.R.T. self test scans wither other disk tools can not be ran on it.· The temperature gets very warm according to CrystalDiskInfo, although with it at 65c it's not hot to the touch and is safe to handle. The idle temperature sits at a constant 57c to 59c.· Works with Sony PlayStation 4 Slim, although the non-removable cap is open at the max in very awkward angle due to how the PS4 USB ports are recessed. The PS4 shows it as having 250.1GB capacity, and offers to format it as Extended Storage which I didn't try.· Works with TLC Roku TV using the built in Roku Media Player.· On my USB 3.0 (5GBPS) system it has the same speeds as any SATA3 SSD used in an external USB 3.0 (5GBPS and 6GBPS) enclosure.

I needed 2TB-4TB external usb-c that performed atleast near the 10Gbps like the full Samsung T7 1TB secondary drive… This drive certainly does that, and somehow using a TB4 cable on a TB4 port does repeatability hit 1280… (not that it matters for what it’s purpose is)…I did get a fantastic deal because it’s pink 🤣 for some odd reason… but 35% off just because of color put this 4TB in the price range of a 2TB…It oddly comes preformatted NTFS, however reformatting to anyone’s preferred format and/or num of partitions takes just a few seconds….I always update my reviews if the items or devices fail to perform as expected over time… Look at my review date, if a substantial amount of time has elapsed and I have not updated, you can assume that it’s still doing great!!!

I promise you, the heat factor will destroy the device eventually. Good for a backup perhaps, but as the main drive? Absolutely not!

This ain't your grandad's USB stick of days of old. This SSD stick is speedy AF. I DJ regularly and no other USB stick has rocked my world the way this one does. It's fast and reliable. The only issue is the price. 10/10.
