After calling the manufacturers tech line, the size of the drum head was confirmed. I ordered it and when it arrived it was way too large. At this point I've ordered three different brands of drum heads, all the same size and none of them fit, 2 were too large, 1 was too small and one was damaged in shipment. after calling the different vendors I got the impression that they weren't very concerned and never offered a solution. Two of them told me that it's trial and error when it comes to bongo heads fitting due to the process used to create the drum bodies (BS, just a way to blow customers off)
