Great for lighting, like that it starts on night light mode, then allows you to switch. HOWEVER, there is a 90% chance you break it while changing the battery. If you’re in the field, carry electrical tape to fix on the fly.

Durable, excellent battery life, red light is brighter than most other red lights on headlamps.

I love this light and it's replaced my favorite headlamp, which I'm kind of torn about. I love the fact that it's a CR123 and allows me to only carry one type of battery for both my headlamp and regular flashlight. I love the fact that it turns on to the red LED first, yet it's intuitive to switch to the other modes. It folds up in such a way that it's impossible to accidentally get turned on in your pack. Plus it has the mount for the shroud you normally see on NVG helmets. I've attached it to my rock climbing helmet and 4 wheeler helmet, allowing me to use a headlamp while wearing either helmet, with the shroud attached. You won't be disappointed.

It comes with three mounts that the light can quickly attach. One on the headband, and extra one to add to anything that has a strap and an NVG plate. Easy to operate lighting 4 modes.I plan on adding an rubber o-ring and sealing up the seams with silicone to add some waterproofing. Waterproofing would have put it at 4 stars.Update: mine flickers and dies now.
