The 'Air Purifier, Dayear Plug-in Negative Ion Air Purifier, 4 Pcs' arrived in a printed box that also contained instructions.I will start out by saying I will not be using these, and have therefore not tested them.Before I use any device that is powered by mains voltage electricity I check the plug, in this case it is inbuilt, and a number of issues were noticed.The earth pin is partially insulated which it should not be, the earth pin must only be metal or plastic; the part insulation is a requirement for the live and neutral pins only.There are also no markings on the device to indicate if it is double insulated or meets any certifications required.A look at my side view pictures of the pins shows that the back of the plug is angled; this will mean that when it is inserted into a socket so the pins go in straight, the bottom of the device will touch the socket before the top, so leaving a gap at the top.Alternatively if the unit is inserted in such a way that the back of the unit will be flat against the socket, then there is no guarantee the earth pin will be in contact inside the socket as the pins are entering at an angle, and due to how the socket connects to the live and neutral pins, it will likely be putting pressure on just one side of the socket terminal if it goes in at all.As an aside, some of the information in the instructions make little sense and may even refer to a different product.For the above reasons I have given just a 1 star rating and find I cannot recommend this product. If the issues were resolved I would be interested to see how effective these work.

On the plus side , these do make a noticeable difference to freshening the air in small rooms . However they are far less noticeable in larger ones.They also take up a heck of a lot of socket space which is at a premium in our old house .They simply plug and play but you also get used to them pretty quickly.I think these are good to help eliminate odours including from pets . While I might put them in from time to time, including before the arrival of guests, I would not have them on all the time .Given these shortcomings, the most I can award them is three stars .
