These Makita hoses are good quality. I have the original hose that came with my vacuum and I bought a second hose to use as an extension hose when length. My only complaint is the cost but I could not find a compatible size hose made of similar quality. DeWalt has a hose that is the same size, but it is bad quality and rubs black crud onto everything it touches (it’s also expensive). Aftermarket stuff like Cen-Tec hoses have mixed reviews on durability and longevity.

I tried this, fairly confident the extractor end would connect snugly to my Festool CT36, paired with a new Makita W107418688 quick-clip tool-end adapter with 1-3/4" OD. This seems to be the least expensive anti-static (AS) hose available anywhere. My suspicions were correct! It fits perfectly into the CT extractor, and the tool-end fits perfectly inside the 1-3/4" ID adapter supplied with the ShopNation dust collection system for my Bosch GCM12SD miter saw. I'll leave this permanently connected to the miter saw (snaked through the back of the miter saw station workbench where it stays), freeing up the original CT 27/32 hose for general cleaning and use with my table saw over-blade connection (with Festool Y-splitter) and with my router. I'm impressed with the quality of the Makita hose and rotating quick-clip cuff paired with the Makita adapter. The hose isn't cloth-covered like the Festool, but of similar quality. I might even consider purchasing additional Makita connectors to cut this hose in two and use this AS hose for another application. I'm a bit paranoid about ensuring I use AS hoses due to Festool's warnings regarding static and the CT. By the way, Nilfisk makes the Makita VC4210L extractor, so this is likely made by Nilfisk.

great factory replacement

it has taken me a long time to work with multiple tool platforms. Not having a money tree and moving among trade work, construction, and wood working it is also a fact that festool doesn’t make every tool under the sun. I like the makita vacuum and have really enjoyed it, but bouncing back and forth between AWS gear and plugged in festool devices I got the idea to get this product and velcro a festool power chord to it. Now when I use my festool planer or sander, I swap hoses (which is easy unlike other extractor or shop vac platforms) and attach the one with the chord. No it’s not the festool system, but it works for me and has made my desire to get another dust extractor not be a hot button issue. The older I get the more conscious I am of what I am breathing in. I can’t say I gave much thought into sanding walls in my fraternity house 30 yrs ago. What I can say is that while I work alone in a job, I will have several extractors, but as far as I am concerned this hose has at least temporarily saved me $900.
