I got this as while I have a smart charger it's only a 4 slot and sometimes I need to recharge more in one go.This charger is a bit of a beast, you get 12 slots which when fully populated with NiCad or NiMh cells will provide 500mA of charge power, drop down to 6 cells and it will crank the power upto 1000mA per slot for speedy charging. The display is nice and clear and clearly shows the state of each cell (including the dead one I put in, that will be fine once I cook it on my dumb charger for 10 mins). While I do not have any Lithium based cells to try it with I plan to use them for a few projects soon so it's some handy future proofing.There are some downsides:1) You cannot select to power output when charging NiCad/NiMh cells, this does mean you can cook lower capacity batteries when used in 6 slot mode (typically you should charge with half the stated capacity, cooking an 800mA batter at 1000mA is not ideal). A simply option to select between the two would be handy for NiCad mode.2) I got some weird readings and values at times, like 3.5v+ being shoved into a battery or the charge percentage not updating. Reinserting the cell cures this so not sure what that is about.3) The supplied travel adapter (aka deathdapter) is pretty much the worse I have ever seen. The pins on the male UK side pins are wonky, too short and seems to be unable to hold itself securely in a socket. The female side is also poorly made, failing to securely hold the supplied mains adapter, or anything I tried plugging in, it went straight in the e-waste pile. I have better travel adapters and will likely just use a spare UK pinned suitable mains adapter from my hoard.
