This appears to be well made and comes with a battery. The light is nice and bright. It takes some getting used to actually using the lens as there is a lot of squinting involved. Useful for hallmarks.

Pocket MicroscopeI recently had to take my rings into the Jewellers to get new shanks made for them as they’d worn down to almost nothing in 20yrs. It had been so long since buying them, we just presumed they were 9ct, but a look through the Jeweller’s microscope revealed they were actually 18ct costing almost double the price to get repaired. This led me to having a look at my other rings at home to see what gold they were, but I just couldn’t see the hallmarks properly, so when the opportunity came to try this magnifier, I was excited for it to come.It arrives boxed, inside of which it’s in a cute little pouch which closes with a small velcro patch. The microscope feels lightweight, made of cheap plastic, but thankfully it came with batteries in it for the lights, so I could try it immediately. To be honest, I’m not even sure if the magnifier even works, it seems to stay the same no matter how far and which way I turn the dial. Plus it only seems to work for looking at something surface level, because I could not for the life of me get it to focus on any of the rings hallmarks inside the shanks, plus you definitely need 3 hands. I struggled to hold my ring, whilst also holding the magnifier and trying to turn the dial at the same time. The only thing I managed to discover was how badly scratched all of my jewellery looks at 60x though, shocking. At the time of writing this review, the price of the item was £7.59, which is a decent price if you are just looking at surface level jewellery/watch faces. As always, I have added a few photos to this review which I hope you find helpful.
