This kit comes with some assembly required obviously, but it is not so complicated that you need an electrical engineering degree. If you have ever put together your own computer then this is child's play, albeit a bit tighter space to work in.I love how this kit both changes the screen to monochrome and increases the size of the print area at the same time. I have had good print results from it so far and the extra features are incredible for upgrading the barebones Photon into a decent, more feature rich machine.The options that you have during printing make it so much easier to adjust needed settings between resins, so you don't have to re-slice everything if you just want to change out which resin you're using. The fact that you can change important printer settings mid print from the printer is great, but I really, REALLY wish that I could apply those settings once and not have to toy with it again unless I want to. As the printer functions now, you have to go in and change the settings every time you start a print. My printer has a UV source that is way too powerful for the screen, so I always have to go in at the start of every print and bring the pwm setting to a very low 60%. I really wish I could set that and forget about it.The metal bracket that holds the screen in the right place needs some very careful straighteneing, or it won't sit flush with the screen, which is very annoying for zeroing. I almost with this had just been a plastic part, as I feel it would come in the package more straight than its metal counterpart.One last thing, make sure that you install the screen the right way up. That is a mistake that I made, as the instructions on this part are ABYSMAL, so make sure you have the blue strip side facing up so you don't get weird printing results.

The installation video shows the screen being installed upside down and also skips several other necessary steps.Once I managed to get it installed properly, it seems to being working well.

I broke the screen on my OG Elegoo Mars and happened across this when searching. I found that upgrading the original RGB screen to a Mono screen required a circuit board upgrade as well. Turns out, this is the same model LCD and circuit board for the Mars as well. I reached out to Elegoo to see if this would work and they confirmed it would, so I pulled the trigger.Installation was very easy, just keep track of the cords and which port they came off of on the original board. I tagged each one so I knew where to install it. Elegoo provided upgraded circuit board and UI firmware - they are very easy to work with.My Mars is back up and running, and works WAY better than before. I used to print at 12-16 seconds per layer depending on what resin I used, now I print at 2-6 seconds per layer. There is a note on the Elegoo website that says the Mars UV LED is not powerful enough for an upgraded screen, but my experience is that it works great.I made my own grid to determine the edges of the print area (see the picture), I was able to use that to manually change the settings in Chitubox when slicing.

Da mein Photon doch etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist kaufte ich dieses Upgrade , ich dachte : der Preismit Board ist moderat , schaun wir mal ...Nach dem Umbau konnte ich die Belichtungszeit der Bodenschichten von 55 auf 25 Sekundenund die Belichtungszeit der Schichten von 16 auf sage und schreibe 2,1 Sekunden verkürzen - eineenorme Zeitersparnis : Ich kann sagen was vorher ca. 6 Stunden Druckzeit erforferte ist nun in 1,5 Stunden erledigt !Für mich ein absolutes " must have ! "Schneller Versand !Fazit von 6 Punkten gebe ich 10 ;-)
