Bought as a replacement for a gift we received at Christmas and this kid has done exactly the same, never been able to use it as was broken upon receipt. The lid doesn’t actually open due to the latch not working inside the button.

Same as the other reviewer, I think the whole batch may be defective. First one didn’t open, they sent a replacement without having to return but it also doesn’t open. I did use a knife to fiddle with the latch and it works okay now…. Not perfect but usable.
