A brilliant end to the series which ties up all of the story points well while still leaving the door open to return to Alagaesia. It’s immensely satisfying and finally meeting Galbatorix is very daunting. Considering it took 4 books to meet him he is impressively menacing and it feels truly hopeless that he will be defeated. The last 100 pages are dedicated to what the world looks like after the war against the empire which gives plenty of time to tie up everything in a wonderful way. I’m so glad to know that he has written Murtagh and can’t wait to get into it!

I first read The Inheritance cycle in Italian when it was published, and I've read it again and again ever since.I was never tired of living those adventures and emotions once again. So I decided to go for the English version and it was even more beautiful!

Before I begin, let me just say that I'm a huge fan of the Inheritance Cycle. I fell in love with the Eragon when I listened to the audio book, and ever since then, I've awaited each book with much anticipation. And I haven't been disappointed. The 1st book was excellent. Eldest was even better. Brisingr wasn't as good, I still don't understand why it's titled that since the sword doesn't appear till more than 3/4 the way through. Inheritance was the best and was a fitting conclusion. In fact, in my opinion, it's the best fictional book, even better than the Lord of the Rings. In each of the books, Eragon and Saphira, mostly Eragon, have some character growth. The best kinds of heroes are the kinds that grow through their adventure. What makes Eragon so good is his determination to fight, no matter the odds, and his faithfulness to his friends. As Murtagh tells him; "That was always the difference between you and me. You were willing to sacrifice yourself." A true hero is someone that puts others before themselves and that's what Eragon does throughout the series.Galbatorix was one of the best villains I've ever read about. He leaves no gaps for Eragon to defeat him, bringing to mind a paper titled, The Top 22 Things I'd do if I Ever Became an Evil Overlord. He's an almost perfect villain. His defeat was pretty clever on Christopher and Eragon's part. I know I would never have thought of that. I'm glad that we're finally introduced to Shruikan, although I'm still not quite clear on how big he is. I thought he was pretty cool, even if he was one of the evilest things in the story, because: HE'S A DRAGON! Who doesn't think dragons aren't cool! Some of the coolest dragons are the bad ones, Smaug comes to mind.I want to now address the two biggest complaints about the book. One common complaint is Christopher's writing. Many of the reviewers complained that he spells thing wrong or misses a comma, etc... What book has no mistakes whatsoever? Every book ever written has some mistake in the writing. Is that any reason to give the book three stars? No. The second and most common complaint was the ending. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone, but just remember Angela's prediction about Eragon's life. Don't forget, either, what the Ra'zac told Eragon before it died, see Brisingr pg 65. I agree, the ending was not what I hoped for, I almost cried, but it was still a very, very good ending and I find myself hoping for a fifth book. The finish called to mind the ending for The Return of the King, which was equally as sad. It was a very well written conclusion; heartwarming and heart wrenching at the same time. All in all: Great story, great characters, great dragons, great fight scenes, great dialogue, especially the discussion about the Vault of Souls, see pg 378-397, where I found my head hurting, and finally, great conclusion. This is defiantly a fabulous finale and I find myself bidding farewell, to Eragon and Saphira, with a heavy heart. This, after all, is my favorite series of books. But Christopher did say that he will return to Alagaesia once more so I think that Christopher's next book should be about Angela, since there are still many mysteries that remain unanswered about her. In the end, I praise Christopher Paolini for a spectacular conclusion for a spectacular series. This epic novel defiantly deserves five out of five stars. Great Job Christopher! Elrun ono!(Thank you!)
