I play a Martin 000-15SM guitar tuned in DADGAD with a Fishman Rare Earth Blend pickup, and I almost always play fingerstyle. I love the tone of this guitar and pickup combination already, but wanted to explore the benefits of adding a compressor. I've tried optical and FET-based compressors with this guitar, and liked the optical one quite a bit. This Fishman unit is special, though. It's simple, not overbearing, and adds the perfect amount of subtle sweetness, thickness, and sustain to my amplified sound. It also has the option of running buffered or true bypass, and has stereo signal routing available, which I might use at some point since my pickup is a combination magnetic and microphone setup (though currently I'm very happy with the built-in blending on the pickup).Build quality seems very solid, and I expect it to be durable (I've only had it a few weeks at this point, though). Soundwise, it outperforms several compressors that cost a good deal more, for my purposes. Its ease of use is wonderful as well.All in all, I love how this compressor enhances my amplified tone without covering up the nuances and dynamics of my downtuned fingerpicking style - it's exactly what I was hoping for, and it's earned a valued spot on my acoustic pedalboard.

this is a great compressor - it sounds very good with my Cordoba & Taylor - I'd give it a 5, but it added a very soft hiss to my signal. I don't have isolated power supply, so, I'm not sure to blame what... I'd buy it again, the noise is very soft. This is staying on my board; tasty tone.
