The FIDECO M.2 NVMe Cloner Dock is hands-down one of the most impressive tools I've added to my tech arsenal. Whether you're a data hoarder, a privacy-conscious user, or just someone who loves blazing-fast storage solutions, this dock is a game-changer.PerformanceThe 4-bay setup is a sight to behold—each bay supports up to 10Gbps, and the aggregate speed hits a whopping 40Gbps (4x10Gbps or 2x20Gbps depending on configuration). Transferring data has never been this seamless. Copying over massive video projects or backups felt like slicing through butter.Offline CloningThis feature is pure magic. No PC needed—just pop in your source and target drives, hit the clone button, and let it do its thing. I cloned a 1TB NVMe drive in less than 20 minutes. The process was straightforward and idiot-proof.Offline Data EraserThe ability to securely erase data with the offline eraser function is a fantastic bonus. In a world where data security is paramount, this dock gives you peace of mind. One press and your data is wiped clean—no residual traces.Cooling SolutionThe foldable cooling fan deserves its own standing ovation. NVMe drives can run hot, but this fan kept all four drives cool, even during prolonged cloning sessions. The foldable design also makes it easy to store and transport.Build QualityThe dock feels solid and durable. The bays are well-designed, and the drives fit snugly without being difficult to insert or remove. It's clear that FIDECO put thought into both form and function.Who Is This For?Content Creators: If you deal with large files, this dock will save you hours of waiting.IT Professionals: The cloning and eraser features are a godsend for deploying or decommissioning drives.Tech Hobbyists: It's just fun to use—like a Swiss Army knife for NVMe drives.Final VerdictThe FIDECO M.2 NVMe Cloner Dock is an investment that pays for itself in time saved and convenience delivered. It's fast, reliable, and packed with features that make it indispensable for anyone working with NVMe SSDs. If you need a powerhouse dock for cloning, erasing, or just managing multiple drives, look no further.

The FIDECO M.2 NVMe Cloner Dock, 4-Bay NVMe Cloner Duplicator with Foldable Cooling Fan is the type of tool that belong in every techies tool shed and once you've used one you'll understand why.The operation of this cloning tool is very simple. The source drive plugs into the M.2 slot labelled source. 1 to 3 SSD's are placed into the other available slots and then power on the cloning device. Press the clone button for a few seconds until all the progress LED lights come on. Release the button and just let it do its thing. You'll see the progress by how many of the progress lights are lit and it'll let you know when it's done. Cloning 1 drive took about ah hour and a half. Realize that when it's cloning it does a sector by sector copy of all the sectors on the source. So it'll take the same amount of time if you have a full drive or only 5MB of data on the source drive being cloned. That's also why your target drives have to be the same size or larger than the source drive. But that's not its only virtue. If you need a larger drive, you can clone the existing drive onto a larger drive. Install that larger drive into your system instead of the original drive and extend the partition to use the extra capacity. My favorite use of cloning is to set up multiple work stations all at one time. I have occasions to set up multiple work stations for a single client or office. My trick is to order identical work stations and set up one station completely. From initializing the operating system, configuring all the appropriate networking, installing and configuring all the software and setting up the desktop with all the shortcuts. When I'm satisfied with that setup, I remove it's SSD and clone the SSD's for all the other workstations. Then when I install the SSD's in all the new computers they'll all be setup identically in a fraction of the time that would have been necessary if I had setup each machine from scratch. The other use is as an external drive. The cloning is all done offline. No computer is needed for cloning. However, If I have bare SSD's that I need to access, I connect the cloning device using a Thunderbolt 4 cable to my computer (usually my laptop but it could be any workstation) and I can read the SSD in any of the slots as a separate drive. Some I can access immediately and others require me to set the drive to active using the Disk Manager. I benchmarked the speed and all the slots transfer the data at about 10Gbps no matter which slot they are in and how many slots are populated.I recommend this tool. As I stated earlier, it belongs in every tech's toolbox.

Decent little cloner. Comes with a Thunderbolt 4 cable and a 5V power supply. Can be used for temporary external disk use, and will make an excellent tool for setting up other boxes SSD ahead of time. Works well with Mac M4 Mini using the included 1.0m Thunderbolt 4 cable, which I tested prior to connecting with an external cable tester and found it to be of high quality (cable includes Thunderbolt 4 logo).Speed/Data IntegrityMount to device is rock solid, no glitches seen under MacOS. Speed is higher than the 750MB/s that a single PCIe channel supports on Thunderbolt 4 and slightly higher than the 1500MB/s supported by two channels. Observed data rate for the source channel is over 12gbps. Card itself is capable of over 33gbps, as seen on a different, dedicated M.2 enclosure with a similar but more restrictive connection (enclosure test done on a hub with other devices including 8K video, see details). It seems on the Thunderbolt 4 bus to be roughly limited by the speed of 2 of the 4 PCIe channels supported, meaning the ceiling is around 20gbps for throughput. Plugging it into one of the three clone ports, I saw identical performance, so at least 12gbps is available on the clones as well (I suspect the device is actually capable of 40gbps shared evenly as 10gbps per socket when all 4 sockets are populated, using Thunderbolt 3+ connections, but lack the available M.2 cards to prove it). Spec sheet claims only 10gbps for the clone slots, but test already exceeded that. If you regularly do PC/Mac setup work, this is a great unit.Details:Fan is quiet and large enough to handle 4x 2280 cards and keep them cool, unit seems to have good card support, no problem with data integrity or stability of mount (tested with 4TB Fikwot 970 2280 M.2). Socket fits M.2 card snugly (no sagging). Data rate to the source and clone slots is over 1,550MB/s for writes and 1540MB/s for reads. For reference, output of the same test in a higher-speed dedicated Acasis enclosure shows the card used is capable of over 2,760MB/s writes and 2,520MB/s reads using a similar interface. Outputs of the commonly-used Blackmagic Disk Speed Test utility for Mac shown on 5GB transfers in photos. (The Acasis was connected through a Sabrent Thunderbolt 4 hub while the Fideco device is connected directly to an open Thunderbolt 4 port on the back of the M4 Mini.)

Easy to use and looks great! Keeps your m.2s cool under load as a dock or as a cloning device. Fast and sturdy, does exactly what it's supposed to do. Great value for money, more expensive options out there but won't look as cool.

I finally found an SSD cloner that doesn't make me want to pull my hair out! Listen, I've got a stack of drives on my desk right now that used to be a nightmare to manage, but this dock has been an absolute revelation. The setup is exactly what I need - four bays that just work, straightforward LED progress lights that actually make sense, and a built-in fan that keeps everything cool (because who hasn't had a drive heat up fast during cloning?) I was honestly shocked by how simple the whole process is - pop in the drives, press a button, and go grab a coffee. Yeah, it takes about 60-90 minutes for a full clone, but compared to my old method of babysitting drives through software cloning, this is pure bliss. If you're like me and deal with multiple drives regularly, trust me this will save your sanity and time.
