This capo has a distended lockjaw mechanism, like a snakes dislocated jaw, meaning it starts out with a wide gap, then engages with a focused finger-thumb compression, and readily engages up to the 9th fret (just me) without any buzz on upper/lower E strings...in fact, very solid grip. Pay attention to how it works. It required me a few repetitions to make sense of the machinations, beyond which I am now familiar with the ease of placement/release.Made in Germany, not China, with highest Fender quality durable engineered materials, with the expectation that any real official Fender Registered product is dependent on the copyright, thus being patented but more expensive.Worth it? I purchased it about 1/2 price via Amazon Canada deals, so for me, a good score. Full price? I've seen the competition, and frankly these days everything musicianwise is way overpriced. You decide.Counting the original, authentic "Fender" cool factor, and it really works for me, 5 stars *****.

It's just PATHETIC on all front. There was NEVER, I repeat never a single time when this Capo fit properly. Save money but a proper hard but not complicated like this one.And top of it - Fender has the audacity to price it high for this useless piece of a thing!

Really clever and effective design! It works well on my electric and on my acoustic. it's simple to use and it doesn't get in my way as much for B7 :-) like my other capo did.

I have been a big fan and long time user of Shubb capos. They are well made, work like a dream and they don't stick out on your guitar neck like spring loaded clip types. The only draw backs to a Shubb is that they are a bit heavy and they do require 2 hands. This new Fender capo is light weight, only requires one hand to put on or remove and nothing sticks out . It's made of plastic but seems durable. It probably won't outlast my Shubbs, but it is an ingenious design that I am really enjoying. One person complained it didn't feel secure enough, but I don't find that to be true. It's gentle on the guitar neck, but yet secure and just tight enough .****UPDATE***** Feb 2014I just bought the new Shubb deluxe which is lighter weight than the original. The Fender capo works fine on my electrics but doesn't clamp tight enough on my new acoustic. I'm back to Shubb.
