Nice upgrade to the 20kg pair. Brings them up to 28kg individually or 36kg single.

I am 50 and have been training since I was 17. Mainly gym training, but I have done plenty of home training too.I have been big and strong. And I've been lean and fit. I have a fully stocked home gym in my workshop. So I know my training. Now I've passed midlife, here's what I've got to say about the EISENLINK dumbbell (and barbell):The concept is fantastic. Both the dumbbell and the barbell use the same weight plate loading and unloading system. It's quick and easy and I can change the weight within the one minute break period I allocate myself between sets. It's simple and there is no "twist and go" action, the mechanics of which has proven to be a weakness in even expensive equipment that EISENLINK is competing with. This is "spit and sawdust" at its best and it has been designed to outlive YOU.If you are one of of the "scream and drop your weights" types, then NOTHING but pre-set dumbbells or barbells would serve you well enough.Personally, the biggest guys and gals I've met, tend not to scream and drop things. They control their training (they also never use tripod cameras... if you know what I mean).EISENLINK bars are solid and could withstand that kind of treatment to an extent, but with sensible training and respect for these weights, they could be heirlooms for generations to come.Now. I am rarely impressed with modern products, but this equipment is made with good steel and clever manufacturing. The welds are spot on and the interlocking plates are well designed and hardy. When the locking screws are tightened, there is NO movement of plates and NOTHING will slip off and land on your head during an enthusiastic workout.Being a simple mechanical design, there's little to wear and the chance of anything "wearing out" is pretty much non existent. In a nutshell... EISENLINK have managed to get the engineering right and they've allocated an affordable price too. This spits in the face of ANY competition from many angles.I have been able to whittle down all of my space invading dumbbells and have not had to look back with regret. The only thing I've retained is my olympic equipment and my leg press machine, which I use for squats, deadlifts, barbell bench presses and leg presses. Realistically I could even abandon most of those, but being "old school", I have an attachment to my olympic stuff and my leg press. And they too will be heirlooms.EVERYTHING else in my home gym now consists of two EISENLINK dumbbells and an EISENLINK barbell. I have bought extra plates to really get to the heavier side of muscle stimulation, but with excellent form and slow concentric and eccentric training these aren't really necessary to pack on the fibres. That's all you need to be fit and strong (unless you feel that displaying a full rack of 8kg to 50kg dumbbell pairs will impress your mates!I prefer to display my results!)

Awesome adjustable weights but only downside IMO is it’s a bit expensive for only 20lbs.

I've been using my Eisenlink dumbbells for over a month now, and I wanted to use them a bit before I wrote a review.I also own a pair of Powerblock Pro Exp with the 90lb expansions, but in the side-by-side photo, I only have 80lb on the Powerblocks so you can see the more efficient use of space with the Eisenlinks.I bought the Powerblock Pro Exp because I hoped the urethane coating on the powerblocks would make them less noisy, but the powerblocks rattle a ton when doing curls and the it feels like my hands are inside a pair of toasters. One time, with my powerblocks I worked to failure and put them down rather hard and broke the weight selector pin. It was in expensive enough to replace, but it's really kind of scary that a thin piece of plastic is holding 90 lbs together.I've looked at Ironmasters and Pepin dumbbells. These are similar to those two brands and, in fact, they really remind me of a dumbbell from a company called Hoist, which I believe was manufactured by Ironmaster and it had the similar side slot for adding plates without removing everything.(A lot of companies manufacture for other brands. Powerblock also makes dumbbells for Hammerstrength). What I like most about my Eisenlinks is 1) I admittedly like to try new things, 2) The price and 3) The relatively quick change. Not as fast a the Powerblocks, but definitely faster than my other screw-on adjustable dumbbells. One thing to note is the length of the handle. My powerblocks have a 5 inch long handle. My generic adjustable dumbbells have a 6 inch handleThe Eisenlink handle is a whopping 6.75 inches long. I think this is needed to provide enough room for the internal screw system. .This hasn't caused any problems but it does make centering the dumbbells important. If you tend not to center them, they will tilt when doing bench presses or curls. It's important to center them.I think that these are great dumbbells, and what would make me rate them even higher (if higher than 5 stars was possible) is if Eisenlink follow through on their plans to release a barbell system as well as an expansion to bring these up to 120 lb.I tested my Eisenlink handle with 90 lbs (I took 10 lbs off one of the dumbbells and placed it on the other) for single arm dumbbell rows and it was very comfortable. I would not place 90 lbs over my head without longer screws and the manufacturer doesn't recommend doing this either. So, please come out with longer screws. :)All in all, these are great. I'm a bit OCD, so the rattling fo my Powerblocks really annoys me when I work out. This rattle happens with everything from Bowflex dumbbells to Nuobells. With these Eisenlinks, they feel like a single piece of metal during your workout. There is no rattling at all.One of my screws did arrive a bit scuffed and chipped and there was some kind of adhesive goo on it. I used goo gone and cleaned it up. The chrome finish was a bit chipped where the screw faces the plates, but this was only cosmetic damage. It cleaned up fine and the scratches will eventually be joined with more scratches from regular use. Weights are going to get scratched up. As nice as these look in new condition, I look forward to putting many scratches on them over the years, and from the way they feel, I believe that I'll be using them for a long time.

Sehr empfehlenswert.
