Well made and worth the money my project looks perfect.

Not all embroidery hoops are created equal! Turns out the gold standard for embroidery floss DMC also makes really nice hoops, as one would expect.I'm working on a decent size cross stitch, that I had on a 10 inch bamboo hoop that I was constantly fighting with and it gave me splinters. I saw this and grabbed it right away, and I'm so glad I did! The section of the cross stitch I'm working on fits perfectly in the oval without a lot of extra unused aida cloth stretched in the hoop. The wood is nice and smooth and the screw fastener at the top is easy to turn and is nice and solid.I'm going to take a hard look at all my old hoops and start replacing them with DMC ones.

The hoop is great, but I was sent one with the screw missing at the top. I was then sent a replacement, which was also missing the screw at the top. I wouldn't waste my time ordering on Amazon because their supply is missing parts.

I like the shape of the hoop. But about half of inside of the outer hoop has pinkish color. According to internet search, the reason could be 'iron' reaction, fungus/mold/bacteria infection or just stain. I am not comfortable to use this hoop concerning health hazard. And the fabric could get stain from the wood.

This made-in-India 8-inch oval wooden embroidery hoop by DMC is sturdy, well made, smooth, no splinters, and has knurled screws that stay tight and helps keep my fabric taut and in place.DMC is a brand I've used for decades, and I like this hoop. The only thing I question is the list price. I'm able to purchase the same product elsewhere for nearly half the cost. That said, the item itself is a 5-star product and I'm happy to recommend it.
